Dean joking about your bad taste in things and you reminding him you picked him? Could you do that?

You and Dean had just gotten back from the grocery store a few minutes ago. Dean and Sam were bringing in the last of the groceries and you started putting them away. Normally, there wouldn’t be much in the fridge, but you decided even a fridge half full of food was an improvement. As you reached for the next bag, you couldn’t help but cringe at what was in the bag.
“What’s wrong [Y/N],” Dean asked, raising an eyebrow. He set the rest of the bags down on the counter. He started to take things out of the bag, putting away boxed foods. He glanced over at you watching you look at the bacon with disgust.
“I don’t understand how you eat this stuff,” you muttered, putting the bacon into the fridge. “Nothing is more unhealthy than fat cooked in fat.” You put the bacon in one of the drawers, reaching for the vegetables that were obviously Sam’s.
“This isn’t the first time you’ve hated something that I love,” Dean noted, sliding the beer your way. “You hate pie too.”
You put the beer on the bottom shelf of the fridge, peering over at Dean. “Gabriel can vouch for me when I say that cake is better,” you said, a small grin on your lips. “I can’t help that I don’t like all of your unhealthy eating habits; only some of them.”
“It’s not just food you know,” Dean stated, shifting his weight to one foot. “Your taste in coffee is terrible too. It’s more like liquid sugar. What happened to plain coffee? Also, depending on the day, your taste in music can be questionable too.”
“What are you trying to say,” you questioned, standing up and closing the door to the fridge. You leaned against the counter, noticing how Dean stopped what he was doing.
“I’m saying that your taste in things isn’t the best [Y/N],” Dean murmured. “Your taste could be a little better, that’s all.”
“Let me remind you that I also chose you Dean Winchester,” you smirked, giving his lips a quick peck. “Not everything I love is in bad taste. Unless, you think that my taste in men is terrible.”
“I’d like to think I’m a great exception,” Dean said, with a playful smirk of his own.
“Not to mention I heard you singing along to my horrible music,” you pointed out. “Sam may or may not have sent me a snapchat where I could hear you singing that terrible music you hate so much.” You took your phone out of your pocket, going through your gallery. You showed Dean your phone, revealing the evidence of him singing to your music in the shower.
“Okay, but to be fair that song is catchy [Y/N],” Dean defended, his cheeks turning a lukewarm pink.
When Dean tried to reach for your phone, you quickly pulled your hand away. “Oh I don’t think so,” you giggled. “This is not something you can delete. It’s mine forever.”
“I said on certain days your taste in music was questionable. You don’t need that little video to prove it.” Dean caressed your arm, taking a step closer. “I think your interest in me makes up for your taste in food and music.”
“And I think your taste in clothes and cars makes up for your taste in movies.” You laughed at the hurt expression on Dean’s face. “Oh relax, Clint Eastwood isn’t for everyone, cowboy.”
“You watched three Clint Eastwood movies with me last night,” Dean recalled. “How can you say you don’t like western movies?”
“Because I don’t,” you said. “Our tastes are different, but it’s the compromises we both make that help make our relationship work. I watch your western movies and you listen to my music.”
Dean leaned in, pressing a chaste kiss to your lips. “At least you’re honest,” Dean mumbled.
“Next time you question my taste in anything, just remember who I picked to love in this world,” you voiced, booping Dean’s nose. “Best choice I ever made.”
“I can’t argue with that,” Dean said, the smirk returning to his face. Dean grabbed a couple beers from the fridge, taking your hand in his free one. “How about we go watch a movie you like?”
“Are you sure,” you teased. “What if you don’t like my taste in movies?”
“I think I can get through one of your movies if you can get through one of mine.” Dean pulled you out of the kitchen and down the hall.
There were times where Dean felt bad for judging your taste in music, movies, food, and other things. He knew everyone had different tastes. Sometimes he wished he wasn’t so stubborn. He would always find a way to make it up to you. Even if it meant watching a chick flick or a romcom.
