What if Oliver’s promise to Laurel has to do with time travel?
Four things had caught my attention and made me think about it while I was reviewing my timeline today:
1- The above Arrow Edit of Oliver telling Laurel about Barry time travel when they were in Central City.
This is interesting since he did not told anybody else on Team Arrow about it…She was the only one that knew….
[Maybe in episode 4x18 she makes Oliver promise to her not to change things if something happens again and she dies…]
2- A recent Marc Guggenheim’s quote to ComicBook.com about time travel…
“What we’re finding is that death now, as it should by the way when you
start to get as we are, pushing into season five, the show has to
evolve, it has to change, and the concept of death on the show is
evolving and changing as we’ve already seen with Sara Lance…You know and again like with seeing Laurel in parallel universe,
there’s a world where we do an episode where Oliver Queen meets the
Laurel Lance of Earth-2. That’s now on the table, you know? TIME TRAVEL IS NOW ON THE TABLE so as the show has evolved, I’m being very long
winded, as the show has evolved, so has death, and again I’ll leave it
to you guys to decide if death is more or less impactful as a result.”
3- Echo Kellum’s Snapchat at The Flash set…What was he doing there?
I know both series shoot in the in Vancouver Film Studios, but rarely we see the actors together during their workdays #justsaying
3- Marc Guggenheim’s tweet about the S4 Season Finale title…
Tomorrow is today?? Sound like time travel - Back in time? #GoFigure
4- We are getting Barry again in episode 4x19 in the flash-forward scene…
Let’s recall this quote from Barry from one of the crossover episodes…
“When I mess with time,
time messes back. And we’ve already changed how things turned out with
Savage, and I’m worried about temporal backlash…” [Barry to Oliver Ep 4x08]
For me the time travel storyline on Arrow is not over… They have to come back and wrap it before the season ends.
Maybe the “schism” is part of the backlash…
Thoughts?
