Edinburg off leash dog park!

Have you heard the news? we now have an off leash dog park in the Edinburg area, and is owned by the awesome people of The Laurie P. Andrews PAWS Center.

They had a special event for the grand opening hosting the ribbon cut in the morning for those who could attend and a costume contest for the fur babies with special drinks for everyone!, we had such a good time there.

They have two separated areas one for dogs under 25 lbs. and one for dogs over 25 lbs. both areas have double door, that space is there for 2 reasons… first so you can let your furkid loose from the leash as she/he walks in free to the park (this ensures the mood and safety of everybody inside); and second to protect dogs from running away easily. PLEASE be responsible with these doors! and make sure the main one is closed every time a loose dog is in that space.

There is easy access to fresh water for fur and non fur visitors, as well as poppy bags and trashcans to clean after our doggies, and I cannot say this loud enough,

PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR FURKID!, I know when we leave them off the leash it can be hard to keep track but please try to do so, or even if it is not yours, help out the place, it is very important for everybody who visits, 4 or 2 legged, we do not like smelly surprises and it is up to all of us to keep it clean and enjoyable for a very long time.

We have big dogs, so we spent most of the time talking to other big dog owners and we all agreed is a little small for big furbabies, but do not mistake the size of the space with the amount of effort this guys put in to it… which you guessed it right: is  HUGE !…. I just can’t praise enough the love and care from them to the community.

During the day we recorded video and pictures of how everything happened and decided to put a video together to show everyone how much fun it was. This time we had our dog Maia as our 2nd video camera, she was dressed up as a bee, and the video includes a few shoots she did!. The video features the music of band “Panoramic”, and we choose the song because it just felt like a perfect fit since the first time we heard it.

We also took a minute to walk through the PAW center and see all the animals they have available for adoption, plus they offer classes and some training for kids which we where very impressed by!.. We will talk about all this in more detail further on, because I just feel like I am making no justice to all they do and offer.

I just want to close up saying that I was very IMPRESSED not only by the park and their attention to detail, but by all the center itself is pretty, clean, well design, informative, modern, and it definitely left me with the feeling of wanting to learn and share more with and about them!
