AMC Gremlin | 1972

‘Gremlin’ as defined by Merriam-Webster refers to ‘a small gnome held to be responsible for malfunction of equipment.’ A gremlin as defined by American Motors was this chopped-tail two-door coupe. If it looks at all like an AMC Hornet its because the Gremlin was born of the same platform. For lack of funds American Motors decided to re-hash their mid-size Hornet in an effort to produce a budget sub-compact car. 40 years of salty San Francisco fog has taken its toll on this example. Still works though.

Street-parked in Noe Valley. San Francisco, CA.
