Q:Greetings. I was just revisiting your legendary video for "The Devil Went Down To Newport" and I thought that I'd lay a few questions on you. I've always wondered who played the Alien? I used to think that it was Joshua Fried, until I asked him. For that matter, who are the hipster couple and the Alien's date? Does anyone we know appear in the video? Did you shoot on a real subway car? Did you actually own a pager? And finally, do you still have your lenticular George Harrison ring? Love, Mike
The alien was a hired actor. Some of his best footage was lost in a terrible technical goof up. The hipster couple I also do not know. We shot at the NYC SUbway museum. I never had a pager. And I don’t know what happened to that ring exactly but I think it might have broken apart at a show as a part of someones stage wear….
