“GET DOWN!” Bucky shouted at you and you ducked down so he could shoot the armed guy that was running toward the two of you. It was hard sometimes to understand Bucky when he had that mask on but most of the time you didn’t need words. You fought as a team for quite some time now.

After the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D, Steve and you had traveled around the world to find Bucky. When you finally did, he was a mess. Sam tried help him with his post traumatic stress disorder, Steve trained with him and you managed to explain everything that was going on in the last 70 years to him. After he was stable, Fury sent him on his first mission with you. He was convinced it was the best idea that you go with him because he wasn’t so attached to you as he was with Steve and that could’ve made things more complicated. So the two of you went to your first mission and after that the second and then the third, the fourth, the fifth and then suddenly … you became partners. You had a bond which no one could explain, you just knew what the other one was about to do.
This time you were somewhere in Washington D.C. to take down some Mafia guys who stole vibranium to build who knows what. You both sneaked into the building where they were hiding it and now you where surrounded by a dozen of 6 foot 4 guys with machine guns. You’ve seen worse.
You sprinted towards a guy that just had walked into the warehouse with a grenade launcher and started to shoot them in your direction. One of them landed right in front of you and you kicked it to the side where another man was running towards you. The explosion nearly knocked you off your feet but you found your balance again. The next one flew directly above your head and you managed to catch it with your hand. This time you threw it back in the direction where it came from but it exploded before it could harm the guy. But it was all you needed to distracted him and when the smoke vanished you jumped up, took his hands between your hands, heard his neck snap and landed gracefully behind him while his lifeless body sunk to the ground. You took the grenade launcher and shot all grenades that were left in the direction of a few insanely expensive cars that were standing in the warehouse. You didn’t need to destroy them but you felt like setting a statement for the guys that would discover the mess Bucky and you made in the morning. You smiled to yourself after all the cars where burning when Bucky came up to you. He took of his mask and furrowed his eyebrows at the burning cars.
“Was that really necessary, Y/N?” he asked and ran a hand through his hair to calm it down.
“Yep.” was all you said and giggled slightly.He started to chuckle and shook his head. “You’re crazy. Common lets get the vibranium and then get the hell out of here before more of them arrive here.”
The two of you made your way over to a pile of boxes and loaded them one by one into your Jeep that was waiting outside the building. After everything was packed both of you changed to normal clothing and cleaned yourself a little bit with some water. Then you got into the car and Bucky started the motor.
“What do you wanna do, princess? Drive back home or stay in a hotel for the night?”

“I think I wanna sleep in my own bed, we can make it in 3 hours and I’m not that tired anyways.”

“Let’s just stay for the night, I wanna avoid Steve and Sams bad jokes for as long as I can.”
