Mario Paint their hands back ⊟
Filipino clothing brand Bench recently put up a set up billboards in Manila showing smartly dressed couples, with two of the advertisements depicting same-sex relationships. Some jerk took offense to seeing two men holding hands and vandalized the billboard by painting over that portion. :o/
People responded on social media channels by adding the couple’s hands back using apps like Line, sharing their fixed photos with the hashtag #PaintTheirHandsBack. Some of the edits are kind of clumsy, but that’s part of the charm — they’re not meant to be Photoshop masterpieces. My favorite (and the one that makes this appropriate to post here) was 8-bit Fiction’s with the Mario Paint interface, playing on the imperfections of these edits.
