I cannot stop staring at this 3D printed Zelda map ⊟
So this thing has a kind of unclear origin… Kotaku posted some tweets from Mike Matei, featuring pictures sent from Willard McFarland, who bought it from… somebody. Okay, with that out of the way, this is remarkable and a beautiful object, a full model of the Zelda 1 overworld map as voxels.
Here’s the part that really blows my mind: the 3D model from which this was printed was made… in Minecraft. This dude was more productive while playing Minecraft than I am while working.
