NEW ALBUM: We Were Once Called Spring (2019) Kickstarter
I’ve wanted a full album from Azuria Sky since we featured her music here years ago, in need of the tender chiptunes she’s billed as “heart-wrenching melodies framed by unrelenting lo-fi soundscapes.” We are close to getting one with the Kickstarter project for We Were Once Called Spring, her 10-track debut album (with b-sides for each song recorded on a Game Boy) coming next Spring – she’s almost halfway toward her pledge goal, with 2 weeks to go.
Funding will pay for production costs, tour expenses, and a couple music videos for planned singles. Those who pledge will receive digital and physical copies of We Were Once Called Spring when it drops in April, art prints, album credits, and even a personal performance if you throw in enough.
You can preview a couple tracks from the upcoming release like “Summer” and “7pm” (”you smell like 7PM in a quiet book store” is a fire line) on Azuria Sky’s Kickstarter page. The sweet music in the background of the track embedded above is from the first song of her 2015 EP Gravity.
