These are a collection of the books I wrote and that were published. A lot of my work did not get examined until after my death. My most famous work of art was “their eyes are watching God” Which was adapted from the folklore of the my hometown Florida, but it was told with fiction and a story that displayed the lives of those people. My Anthropological work was directly incorporated in my writings. In my writings i told my story along with the story of others. I did not care to up hold the image of what a African American was supposed to look like, speak like, or behave like. Many believed my work was appealing to the Whites of this country and their imagery of us, but that was not my objective. I told stories of the real people who were living real lives.
