Dating Ponyboy:
His older brothers are unsure of you the first time he brings you home. Heck, Pony’s never really even talked about girls in front of the gang before but still, you dress nice and do your best to watch your mouth.
Darry is a little cold, you know it’s because he’d rather have Pony focus on school than girls. Soda just adored you because he saw Pony’s eyes light up whenever you talked. He knows that look because he’s been there.
It’s a while before you get introduced to the gang, because Pony could just hear the guys teasing him over it but you assured him you could handle it.
Pony is a sweet boyfriend. He’s comfortable talking about his feelings in front of you and vice versa. You two enjoy just taking walks and talking about stuff he can only talk to Johnny about. He’ll write you poems and pick some flowers for you. He see’s how your face lights up when he does little stuff like this so he always makes sure to spoil you as best as he can.
For a boy with such a sweet nature he is protective. When you two are in public be automatically holds your hand and kisses your cheek every once in a while.
Sometimes his emotions are a bit too much to handle. Mainly because he has a difficult time seeing where Darry is coming from but you cool him off.
Physically you two take it slow, neither have been in a relationship before and since Darry tried to have “the talk” with Pony it made him blush so hard he couldn’t look at you for a week without turning red.
As long as you can continue to communicate and get over the gangs teasing you’ll make it.

- A homebody by nature cancers like the comfortable and the familiar. Not a fan of change. Which is maybe why he likes books and movies, they seem like something that always always been his hobby.
- With a hard outer shall and a soft inside the cancers are self protecting and when hurt will retreat into their shell. Even though he’s a greaser and might portal that tough outer shell at heart Ponyboy is a pretty sensitive kid.
-
Cancer is a very sensitive sign, and they don’t always appreciate it when you are blunt with them. Darry is pretty tough on Pony and he’s had to go to brother to parent, with his time changing Pony feels like he’s getting yelled at all the time.
-
“Moon in Aquarius people are extremely observant. They are life-time students of human nature, loving to analyze why people do what they do.” Maybe that’s why he likes to draw, because of how he see’s things.
-
“Their inner feeling of loneliness–that they don’t quite fit in–puts them on the outside, looking in.
“ Even though he’s a greaser he even still feels slightly out of place around his gang.
- “When Venus in Leo people are in love, they are proud, even boastful.
“ Pony wants someone on his arm that he is proud of and proud to be with.
- With a Venus is Leo, Pony probably likes the first stage of love, where you spend all your free time thinking of them.
- Therefore he would maybe draw a picture of what he remembers they look like, maybe give it to you as gift for your birthday.
- A way he might show he cares about you, as a cancer boy is to show he cares you in different ways. Such as walking you to class.
- Some of his favorite things is to snuggle and bring his lover inside his shell.
Let me know what you think! Looking to do this for the rest of the gang and The Shepard’s.
Dating Johnny:
It’s going to be awkwardly shy at first. Johnny is a really sweet guy but talking to girls has never been his strong suit.
The gang- mainly Dallas is very protective over Johnny so when first meeting them they 20 question you. You did your best to answer to answer them all but you made it through. Only because Johnny stood up and told them to knock it off. Everyone looked at him for raising his voice but once he explained how much you mean to him they understood and never bothered you about it again.
Obviously Johnny’s home life isn’t good and no money yet you two made the best of your time together. Taking walks and going to park are a couple things you enjoy.
Johnny is truly a great boyfriend. He will hold your hand 24/7, listen to you when you talk, and always stands up for you when the time calls for it.
One time a guy was giving you a hard time, just being a jerk and Johnny told him off. When the guy continued to challenge it, Johnny had no hesitation about punching him in his face.
That’s when you realized you loved Johnny Cade. Because even though either of you had much, you still cared for each other in non material ways.
Dating Two-bit:
When you first met the famous wise cracking Two-bit he was of course drunk and hit on you. After you had enough of him harassing you, you splashed a drink in his face. The next day rolls around and he asks you out on a proper date.
Sometimes you don’t understand him. How can someone always crack a damn joke and have something to say? Doesn’t matter if he’s getting bothering by the police and lying his way out of petty theft or not.
Regardless of what people think, he can have a serious side. He just doesn’t show it. It’s his way of hiding his emotions, like Dallas being cold. Two only shows this side to you late into the hours of the night. You’ll be walking home from some random place he brought you too and he’ll say something serious, like when he confessed his love for you.
Your favorite place to be with each other is the park, lying down under the stars and talking about getting out of this dry town you all live in. A place where soc’s don’t exist.
It’s the soft side of him you fell for, but you know the gang and his sister will almost always come before you. I say almost because until you two become serious he does put them before you. He has a responsibility- even if he doesn’t like to admit to- to his mother, sister, and the gang.
The gang actually took a warming to you, you’re the only one who can keep up with Two-bit and his shenanigans. Including eating chocolate cake and beer for breakfast.
In the end, you are the only one who truly gets this Mickey Mouse lover.
Dating Sodapop:
But with that comes the good, right?
It’s going to be bad for a few reasons:
One: any girl in town would kill to have him on her arms.
Two: He is going to have a bit of a wall up since Sandy and him did not end well.
Three: he can be a jealous little shit sometimes.
You just need to remember the good stuff, like that he is with you because he thinks your better than every other girl in town and even though he knows your intentions with him are good apart of him deep down is still scared you’d hurt him.
And yes, he can be a jealous little shit sometimes but thats because he thinks your too good for a no good hood like him, so when a guy gives you attention Soda doesn’t really know how to handle it except for being jealous.
Deep down, Sodapop just wants you to be happy. He knows spending time together is going to be tough because of him working a lot and trying to keep the peace in his house.
To make up for it he invites you over for a dinner a bit and makes sure to snuggle with you to show that you do matter to him.
Even when the gang (mainly Dallas) gives you a hard time, he defends you and heck you and Steve get along which is great for him.
Dating Dallas:
You knew from the moment you saw Dally he was nothing but trouble. Which is what you love and hate about it.
The moment he saw you, he saw someone who was tough and wouldn’t put up with any of his bullshit. He chased after you for some time before you decided to give him a chance and honestly, he isn’t as bad as you thought he’d be.
Obviously sharing his feelings isn’t something that happens but he is always there for you in his own way. Soon as word got around that you two were an item, no guy bothered you. Unless of course they were trying to get back at Dallas for slashing their car tires or something.
It never worked though, you always told them off and Dally, well, he always made sure they never bothered you again. Which they didn’t.
He would never admit it but Dally loved having you as his girl. You could take care of yourself when he was locked up but still depended on him to protect you when the time called for it. You learned early in the relationship Dally showed he cared by being protective.
The gang even likes you. At first they were hesitant because of Sylvia and her always cheating on him, but once they got to know you more they realized you weren’t a no good trash girl.
People questioned your relationship. You’re a smart greaser girl who has good grades and could get out of this hell hole of a town but none of that mattered to either of you.
Dating Steve:
Steve has been trying to impress you since the day you two met. It took a while before you finally gave into this grease monkey but you did.
At first you were unsure about Steve. He spent a lot of time with Sodapop, his best friend, and never at home.
After you confronted him about it, he told you. Steve told you how his old man hated him and would hit him. You weren’t sure how to respond, your home life wasn’t like that.
Sure, you were a greaser but your home life was shitty like most greaser kids. After Steve confessed to you, you just hugged him and brought him over to your house for dinner.
Your parents were skeptical at first, you dating a cliche greaser kid, but Steve warmed them up a bit. Your mother adored him.
Steve thanked you for brining him home and from then on he trusted you. You were there for him in a time of need, which isn’t something he shows, and you still stuck around.
Once Steve had realized you were there for him and not trying to get closer to Soda (he is insecure about that) he spent more time with you and would still try and impress you. But that is mainly when other guys are around.
Dating Darry:
Darry is going to be difficult to be with, but you knew this going into the relationship.
His younger brothers and the gang are always going to come before you because well- they are family. They have always been there for him and it’s all he has left of his family.
This also means his work will come before you. He works this hard so Ponyboy can go to a good college and make something of himself unlike he was able to do.
Sometimes this becomes too much to handle for the both of you. As much as he will be too busy or tired to take you out on a nice date, some cuddling at home will do just fine in his eyes.
As much as getting put on the sideline by Darry will suck and you will go home crying because he promised to spend time with you and something came up and he had to cancel, do not give up.
If you want to be with Darry you need to prove your loyalty to him by always being there like he is for everyone else.
The day will come. He will break down about his parents and how frustrating it can be for him to watch out for his kid brothers but then realization will hit him. You staying by his side will pay off.
If you continue to stand by his side he will accept you as his family.
Not all of the songs are exactly radio but the songs take place in the same era as the book is set.
Darry: One of his friends had just gotten married, so he took you to the wedding as a date. He really did clean up nice in a suit, but he wasn’t much a dancer. For someone who is amazingly athletic, he can’t dance to save his life.
You spent most of the night tagging along with him as he caught up with friends from high school who got the chance to go to college. As soon as “Be My Baby” by The Ronettes came on you decided he was going to dance with you. You two never were the couple to have a song but as soon as you heard it you know this was for you guys.
“This is our song,” you said firmly, as you two slowly moved to the music.
“It is?” he asked with a smile resting his forehead against yours, “since when?”
“Since now.” He kissed you gently on the lips before continuing to dance.
Sodapop: Steve had to leave the DX early tonight so it was just you and Soda were left, with no customers. It was getting dark out when “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” by Elvis Presley came on the DX radio. You smiled to yourself lightly singing along to the song as Sodapop finished cleaning up outside.
You jumped a little when his arms snaked around you.
“Sorry,” he mumbled into your hair before pulling you off the chair and bringing you to dance with him.
“I knew this song was ours as soon as I saw you,” he said as you both continued to dance.
“Really?” you raised an eyebrow up at him.
“Of course,” he smiled before kissing your forehead.
Ponyboy: You and Pony had gotten the Curtis house to yourselves. Darry and Soda were at work and the gang was somewhere around.
Absolutely nothing was on the television so you had turned on the radio, after annoying pop songs you finally had heard “You Really Got A Hold On Me” by The Beatles. The Beatles were obvious Soc music but you and Pony loved to listen to them anyways.
Well, only this song, because it was after all, your song. You both had agreed to this song after arguing about it a few months ago. You smiled at Pony and a light blush crept across his face as he asked you to dance. You giggled taking his hand, letting him lead.
It was nice without all the guys here. You two never got alone time, mainly because Darry thinks what happened to Soda could happen to both of you.
“Hey lovebirds!” shouted Two-bit walking in the front door, startling the both of you apart. He pulled Pony under his arm and messed up his hair before making the both of you blush.
Two-bit: Besides Mickey Mouse, Two-bit loved listening to Johnny Cash. He was the toughest of the tough, that’s Two’s words at least. You were waiting for him in the kitchen on his house with his sister, while you waited for him.
You adored his little sister and she adored you, mainly because you remembered to feed her. You were messing with the kitchen radio when “Jackson” by Johnny Cash & June Carter came on.
You and his sister started singing and dancing around the kitchen like fools. It wasn’t long until Two-bit came in and joined the both of you.
Once the song was over he wrapped his arms around you and kissed you with a goofy smile on the both of your faces.
Steve: He took you to some remote location a bit up north, in the country for a date. The two of you talked but mainly laid on the hood on his car listening to the radio.
As you held hands “My Girl” by The Temptations came on. He pulled you closer to him so your head on his chest.
“This is my favorite song,” he said twirling his fingers through your hair.
“Really?” you asked, never thinking he would like this kind of music.
He just hugged you tighter as the song played on.
Johnny: Another night with Johnny in the lot. It was chilly outsider so you brought your warmest blanket with you and your hand held radio.
You two were snuggled close when “God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys came on.
You were surprised when Johnny started to lightly sing along with the radio. “I didn’t know you sang,” you said.
“I don’t,” he replied, “normally. But this song always reminds me of you.”
You smiled before giving him a soft kiss on the lips and cuddling even closer, if that was possible, to him. You both fell asleep before the song could end.
Dally: You didn’t bother to knocked as you walked into Buck’s place. Surprisingly there wasn’t a party tonight, but that didn’t stop you from being mad at Dally.
“Hey doll,” he said before taking a drink of his beer.
“Hey doll?” you asked him, with a ton like venom.
He sighed, “what did I do now?"
"Oh, good you know you messed up,” you spoke, “you forgot our date doll."
That was the beginning of the end, you two were arguing so loud Buck had come upstairs to Dally’s room to watch.
By the end of the fight you were both out of fume to keep going, though your mood suddenly changed when "Gloria” by Van Morrison started to play.
"You hear that Dal?”
He smiled before wrapping his arms around you, “you still mad?”
You didn’t answer him knowing you were always mad at Dallas Winston.
Hopefully this is what you had in mind, I did change it a bit though.
Darry: It had taken Darry a bit to gain the courage to ask you out and for him to find the time between working two jobs but he finally asked you out. You had both went to the same high school, he was the football player and you were the cheerleader. It would have been a match made in heaven except you were dating some jerk. Darry had taken you to the high school football game. When you both met up by the bleachers before the game had started. Darry smiled and whispered a “yes!” to himself before greeting you.
Sodapop: The fact that Soda could have any girl he wanted and chose you still fascinates you. You were beyond excited to go on your first date together, he was taking you to a drag race. As you ran around your room trying to find you what to wear he rang your doorbell. You mumbled a few swearwords while your mother answered the door. You ran to the front door, leaving you out of breath when you got there. You mom winked at you before Soda just widely grinned at you. This was going to be a good date.
Ponyboy: Of course he wanted to take you to see that new Paul Newman movie. You two went in the afternoon, seeing as it was safer than night time with the socs. You wore a simple light purple dress and flats. When you two met at the movies all he could say is, “wow!”
Two-bit: Amazing how fast the funny man can become serious when it came to asking you out on a date. You were reluctant at first, because he’s always such a joker and you wanted something serious. After you finally agreed to go on a date with him when you walked into The Dingo you saw him fiddling with his thumbs looking out the window for any sign of you. Walking with a smile to the booth he was in, he noticed you instantly. He stood up and guided you to take a seat, “you look wonderful.”
Steve: It wouldn’t be a true first date with Steve Randle unless he took you in a nice lookin’ car and to the drive in movie theatre. He picked you up outside of your house, you practically ran out the door. Once you got in the car he wolf whistled at you and smiled.
Johnny: You were surprised when Johnny asked you out but happy non the less. Neither one of you had money but it didn’t matter. You both met up at the park, at night time. You laid down on the grass and just talked while watching the stars. He didn’t talk much but he did hold your hand.
Dallas: A date with Dallas Winston was not something you thought would ever happen. Yeah he’s good lookin’ but you knew all too well about him to want to say yes. He almost had to beg you to go out with him. You agreed- as long as it wasn’t another party an Buck’s. He agreed and decided to take you to a rodeo instead. He smirked when he first saw you and grabbed your hand, leading you to a T-bird you were sure he had stolen.
