Tribeca Film Festival entry All We Had marks a couple important firsts: It’s the first novel from author Annie Weatherwax, and it marks the feature directorial debut of Katie Holmes, who also stars in the movie as a struggling mother to a teenage daughter.

It’s official: Full House is back! Or rather, Fuller House is here, and though critics certainly don’t seem as swept up in Tannermania, the air is thick with TGIF nostalgia from fans raised on the ’90s cheery family comedy.

Tom Cruise has some good news on his birthday. Forbes unveiled its list of the highest-paid working actors and Cruise sits at the top.
Hopefully, the $75 million that the Mission: Impossible star raked in will soothe a bit of the sting from Katie Holmes’ divorce papers. Cruise, who turns 50 today, ultimately might not look back so fondly on the past year, considering his personal turmoil. But he had an unbelievable year at the box office, blowing by last year’s champ, Leonardo DiCaprio. The King of the World had to settle for $37 million, less than half of his 2010-11 earnings.
In a recent issue of Star, we published headlines about Katie Holmes that could be read to suggest that she was addicted to drugs. Star did not intend to suggest that Ms. Holmes was a drug addict or was undergoing treatment for a drug addiction. Star apologizes to Ms. Holmes for any misperception and will be making a substantial donation to charity on Ms. Holmes’ behalf for any harm that we may have caused.
Wow—Katie Holmes actually got Star magazine to apologize to her. Kudos, Mrs. Cruise.
