We (Matt and I) knew and realized how important the scene was to both the book fans and people who’ve fallen in love with the show. Going into the date scene, we wanted Magnus and Alec to be grounded–that there’s a human element outside the fantasy. Yes, we’re playing a warlock and a shadowhunter, but we kept asking—can someone relate to two guys trying to figure out how to connect on a higher level than just attraction?
I remember when this aired I could hardly believe it happened for the first little while.
Thank you, Harry Shum Jr, Matt Daddario and everyone responsible for bringing this beautiful couple to our TV screens. :) They make me happier than I could ever begin to describe (which may be sad, but it’s also true.)

Sometimes I just sit there watching a scene in complete awe of how absolutely PERFECT he is as Magnus Bane.
This can’t be just me.
