Memorial Day or Decoration Day

Today we remember those who died while serving in the armed forces. Originally celebrated in the years following the American Civil War, it became an official holiday in 1971.

The first image is from the Lincoln Collection, Currier and Ives Lithographs 1844-1890. The second image is from the Lincoln Collection Sheet Music 1836-1878
