Video of my last GLSL shader, Inspired by Tame Impala’s “Currents” album cover art. glsl shader tame impala album cover art video Now I have to actually study for my exam tomorrow
Typing random code in GLSL almost always gives an interesting result. Once I retire in 40 years, I’ll GLSL all day long. This is almost the same code as the last gif except I mapped the x,y coords to a different space:float d = distance(vec2(x,y),vec2(0.5,0.5)); float angle = atan(y,x); x = angle; y = 2.0 * d; glsl code gif
I used libsoil to add PNG image loading to my ogl-js project’s post-processor. Then I used GLSL to create this gif by modulating the UV x value with a sine.GLSL CODE: https://github.com/antoineMoPa/ogl-js/blob/master/tests/pp_textures/post-fragment.glsl glsl gif perfect loop

People keep asking me how I make my gifs.Answer: shadergif.com (which I built as a free/open source project https://github.com/antoineMoPa/shadergif)The language is GLSL, which is a derivative of C with vectors and other useful stuff for graphics. GLSL shaders are used in many real time graphic applications (like games and music visualisation), so it is worth learning. Shadergif is just a web editor with gif/png export capabilities. I frequently download the .zip file with PNGs and create better compressed .gifs with other offline tools (ImageMagick’s convert command).A desktop/electron version is on the way. glsl shader gif code shadergif tool
Took a picture while riding my bike. Reanimated with code (glsl). glsl code reanimation texture bridge gif compression
I coded a small tool for quickly making gifs from 2d glsl fragment shaders. It is on the internet: hereYou can go ahead and try stuff (Ideas: change values, use sin, cos, tan, pow, etc.). I will probably be making some fractals with this (sorry for flooding your feed with fractals all the time).Gif export by gif.js gives some interestingly weird results like the picture I posted.Code on github: https://github.com/antoineMoPa/shadergif/tree/master glsl shader gif tool math
