This movie is totally nuts for both better and worse. McKay uses every one of his storytelling tricks to (sometimes comically) dramatize former US Vice President Dick Cheney’s wild life and rise to power.

Full of crazy turns and highly dramatic recreations of recent history, the film pulls no punches in skewering the Bush era’s highly destructive abuses of power during the war on terror and its ultimately tragic consequences. However, the mixed results on screen only heighten the inconsistency and rapid fire nature of the its scattered momentum.
