Kajillionaire (dir. Miranda July).
July’s third film (her first in nine years) is another offbeat story of loners and weirdos existing on the fringes somewhere in Los Angeles. Starring Evan Rachel Wood, Richard Jenkins, and Debra Winger as an oddball family of small-time grifters and unsuccessful con artists, they meet and are enchanted by the sunny demeanour of Gina Rodriguez. Things quickly go astray as Wood’s oddly-named Old Dolio questions her previously narrow worldview as she discovers true companionship.
