Fear Street Part Two: 1978 (dir. Leigh Janiak).

Netflix’s second installment in their R.L. Stine trilogy takes a more generic camp killer approach to its scare tactics as the middle chapter further builds out its interconnected horror mythology. This one relies too much on exposition from the first while using its time to show us so much bloody killing and gore without the same story momentum. It’s too bad how they’ve structured the series to hold back what seems like the most interesting tidbits for the finale where it seems they’ll give us the origins of the evil we’ve already been witnessing.
