Showtime’s mysterious (slightly supernatural) plane crash survival drama sees a lot of parallels to stories like Lost or Lord of the Flies while mining our own nostalgia for ‘90s teen culture including its playful casting. How the series unfolds, both in the past when a high school girls’ soccer team is stranded in the woods somewhere after their plane crashes and in the present as their adult versions (twenty years later) struggle to cope with their past trauma, presents plenty of intriguing storytelling possibilities.
