Netflix’s very American tale of a young woman’s year working abroad in France is a ridiculous but ultimately fun conception of expatriate life at best and a highly superficial portrait of the city of lights at worst. While extremely basic in its view of living in a glossily idealized vision of Paris, the conventional rom-com series starring Lily Collins is breezy and enjoyable to watch at home. Over three seasons, the comedy series blasts through melodramatic storylines involving love triangles, office politics, and culture clashes with enough flair and style.
