Bard on the Beach’s joyful re-imagining of the classic Shakespeare comedy (originally mounted in 2018) as a jukebox musical is heightened by including two-dozen songs from The Beatles’ unmistakable catalogue. Displaced to the 1960s Vancouver counterculture scene, its pro wrestling theatrics and hippy culture vibes make the work all the easier to absorb.

Directed by Citadel Theatre’s Daryl Cloran, the high production values and seamless integration of such well-known music work in tandem to enhance the audience’s theatre-going experience. Every artistic element turns the familiar show into something unique despite being remixed from classic pieces of literature and music history.
