When you are trying to get something important done in a minute it seems to speed by. But when you’re counting down a minute it can seem like it’s taking forever. This is of course a magical trick that our brains play on us. Write a scene that happens within the span of a minute. Does the minute tick by with each second feeling like an eternity? Or does it pass in a flash leaving your character feeling like she didn’t have enough time? What is the reasoning behind the minute time span in the scene? Is it that one last minute before she can clock out of work? That last minute she has left to finish an important test? How does your character use her minute?
