When You’re Older

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

There are a lot of things that people either don’t know how to explain or don’t want to explain to children. As a result, the phrase “you’ll understand when you’re older” has become almost cliché. Maybe it is true sometimes that a child won’t understand the situation but I feel like children are largely underestimated when it comes to understanding things. Either way, write a scene based on this phrase. Is the phrase actually used in your scene? Or is the scene about your character growing to understand something now that they are older? Whatever the case may be, what was the difficult thing to understand? How does age help with understanding it?
