“N-Nick? Can you pick me up?” You shakily asked your best friend, shivering as a remnant of the earlier rain shower splashed on the top of your head.
“What’s wrong? Is everything okay?” He responded. You could hear him rustling out of bed and rushing to put clothes on in order to get out the house.
You sniffled, “I think.”
“Are you hurt? Where are you?” You heard a car door slam and the start of his car’s engine.
