Something I really liked in “Giant Woman” was in the beginning when Garnet returned from wherever she was, Steven asked if she brought anything for him and she hands him a rock. Which is a very little kid-parent thing to do. And he’s SO excited about the rock. Its really cute.

But then after that, right before they leave, Steven gently places the rock on the floor and looks at it for a second before being content that its safe there, and then he runs off to join them. Its easy to overlook because it happens quickly and the viewer focus is likely on Pearl and Amethyst. But its too sweet to ignore.

The rock is important to Steven, its a gift from someone he loves and he appreciates it. He could’ve dropped it, or thrown it, when something more exciting like going on a mission came along, but he gently places it on the ground because its important to him. It’s not “just a rock.” Its really sweet and, I think, a nice subtle action that adds to Steven’s overall character.
