“Please, somebody help…”
Anna called out, but no one could hear her. She was alone. Again. Only this time she was locked inside the door.
She’d been so stupid to think that someone like Hans could love her, just like that. There’s no such thing as true love. Kristoff was right, she really did not know the last thing about love. Of course, if she’d had the chance to go out into the real world and meet actual real people, while growing up…
Anyway, thinking about the past wasn’t going to help her right now. She could feel the room getting colder and colder around her. She looked up at the ceiling, and ice was forming there. Just like that same ice was spreading throughout her body. Her whole body was trembling but she wasn’t sure whether it was from the cold or in fear.
The person who was supposed to save her, had left her lying there all alone. Her sister was gone. She had no one to talk to. No one knew what was happening to her, except for Kristoff. But he was gone too.
It was in that moment, that she finally understood how her sister must’ve felt all these years. Especially after their parents’ death. They were the ones supposed to help Elsa and protect her, but they were gone. For years she’s been trapped inside her room, alone with her fears and the cold spreading around her. No one other than their parents knew what was happening to Elsa. And she couldn’t even talk about it with Anna.
“Only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart.”
Suddenly, it dawned on her. Maybe she wasn’t the only one with a frozen heart after all. Maybe Grand Pabbie’s words were also referring to Elsa. Maybe, in the end, all her sister really needed to be saved were just a warm hug and somebody to love her. And so the ice inside of her and spreading throughout the realm would finally be thawed.
