I would like to keep Cody Christian fans informed about his current status concerning Teen Wolf and his character Theo Raeken.

The facts
At the end of season 5, we have seen Theo Reaken being dragged into the ground by what was seemingly his dead sister or a projection of her.
On April 8th 2016, Jeff Davis, producer and writer of Teen wolf said in an interview, asked whether Theo was dead or alive: “I think he got his just desserts in the end, but I will say that we really like Cody Christian. We wanted to make sure we didn’t kill him, so we could possibly bring him back.” (1)
At the same day another interview was published in which Jeff Davis said concerning Theo’s fate: “I wouldn’t close the door on him just yet. We love Cody Christian both as an actor and a professional. It’s hard to say goodbye to him so you’ll have to wait and see.” (2)
During Oz Comic Con in Perth, a fan cited Cody Christian with the words: “No, Theo is not dead. Keep watching.” This was misinterpreted as an official confirmation of Cody’s comeback to teenwolf and spread by many sites. However, one or two days later, Cody Christian clarified these rumors: “All I’ve said is that Theo isn’t dead. Just been dragged to hell. I can’t confirm if he’s coming back because I honestly don’t know yet! Wanted to clarify because I’ve seen a lot of tweets surfacing about the subject. If and when I know, I’ll be sure to share (:” On a comment, Cody maybe got troubles for spoilering (“how much y'all wanna bet Cody got in trouble so he had to tweet this”), he answered: “nah. Just don’t want people getting the wrong information based off rumors.”
Since then, no official comment was made on this topic. However, there was an interview given for the Regard Magazine during a photo shoot that probably took place at March 10th in which Cody Christian told the magazine asked about upcoming projects: “My team and I have things cooking. simmering to be more precise. But to be honest, for the most part, it’s all unkown.” I should mention though that the question was: “Besides Teen Wolf, what other projects do you have coming up in the near future?” So Cody’s answer may not apply to a possible future in Teen Wolf.
Teen Wolf season 6 started filming in early March and multiple behind the screen pictures are roaming through the social media since then. For example, writer Will Wallace posted a BTS picture (6) of TW season 6, saying that it was “his” episode filming. The auther has written Episode 3 of S6 (7).
Update April 19th: During Adelaide Oz Comic Con, Cody has given an interview and he said the folowing things: (9) Q: “What’s next for Cody Christian this year? Cody: "I mean, that’s the thing, infinite possibilities. We don’t know what’s next and it’s something liberating about that. There’s a lot of opportunities cooking. In the works. And when those opportunities surface whatever they may be, I’ll be a 100% ready for it. I do have some work coming up people should be excited for that. Can’t talk to you about that. It will be announced shortly but I’m kind of waiting for those opportunities, so things are coming.” Q: "Given the opportunity, would you like to see Theo become a more permanent cast member?” Cody: “This is my take on it and this is what I’ve said in the past when people ask me if this character is coming back in season 6: If there is a story to be told that involves Theo, I would love to be there. That is as simple as I can put it.” Q: “Fingers crossed.” Cody: “Fingers crossed.”
The rumors
There were several rumors including a possible plot summary for the first three episodes of season 6 in which Theo comes back from hell to save Stiles, getting injured by the Nazi Werewolf and being hidden from the Skinwalkers and Kira by Scott’s pack. Also it is said that he might become a were-hyena with green eyes. These rumors were based off an ariticle of moviepilot.com that has been deleted in the meantime and referred to site called “Palameros”. I tried to find that site but it doesn’t seem to exist. So I consider this plot summary as complete fan ficition, especially since Arden Cho (Kira) seemingly left the series. (8)

Rumors saying that Cody will be part of the main cast and gets a sequence in the opener were also mostly based off articles on moviepilot.com that have been deleted as well. There isn’t a single official hint that this will happen anytime soon.
Personal conclusion from the facts
The character Theo Raeken is not dead, so within the Teen Wolf universe, a comeback is possible. But since Cody himself said he doesn’t know if he’s returning to TW and not and since the filming already started and probably has reached episode 5 or 6 in the meantime, the chances are quite bad that Theo Raeken will appear in season 6A. There might be a chance he appears in a later episode or that single scenes will be cut into the first episodes but this is pure speculation by me without ANY official confirmation or hint. No information exists on 6B and nothing reliable can be said if there’s a season 7 at all.
