The Apocalypse - Last Minute of Phan

When the sun struck, it was
evening, most of the urbanites in London
was enjoying their lazy times.
Phil, who was also one of
those, was browsing the Internet in the lounge, scrolling through tumblr.
Everything was so boring and there’s not really some “news” feed on
his dashboard, so he pressed the refresh button for he third time, hoping that
there would be something fascinating as a passtime while waiting for pizza.
As the screen flash, his
dashboard was filled up with information and photos again, but by something
truly eye-catching this time.
"Sun strikes, the end
of the world.“ Phil read the news title out loud and looked out of the
window immediately, soon covered his eyes with one hand. In between the gaps of
his fingers, he saw a bright white dot in the middle of the sky, “Oh
god…” he said, rushing up to the office where Dan was in at the time.
"Dan…“ Phil
grope the door frame for anchorage as he braked. Dan, sitting in his comfy ‘ass
chair’, remain staring at the computer screen and replied a second later,
“What?” “You’ve got 8…no, 7 minutes and 32 seconds
left…” Dan looked up and asked with confusion, “Wha…Phil, are you
testing your newly invented ‘8 minutes challenge’ again? Seriously to be very
honest…” “No look outside right now.” Phil cut him off
nervously and dashed back down to the lounge. Dan stood up and followed lazily,
“ughhh for god sake, please don’t be another fizzing Fanta mouse
again…”
As Phil was in the lounge
once again, he pointed at the window and said, “The sun is coming.”
He grasped his laptop from the couch and showed Dan the news he read earlier,
leaving Dan paralyzed. “Oh my god oh my god…are we going to die now? No
no not now…Phil what should we do?” Dan’s mumble slowly turned into
screams, seizing Phil’s arms tightly, he’s trembling. Everything come and gone
so fast, seems like their first pinof video was filmed yesterday, but then
turned out they were no longer 18 and 22.
Phil held Dan in his arms,
head leaning on his shoulder, silent.
"No. We’re not doing
anything or going anywhere. We’ll staying here, in our house, together.“
Phil pulled away and stared into the younger boy’s eyes. He still remember how
they first met at the train station, he hid behind the walls as he saw the
brown hair boy got off the train, glancing left and right trying to find his
way to where they agreed to meet at, but had no idea where the location
actually was and stood still beside the train indicator board, so the older boy
can find him easily. Phil couldn’t wait but rushed towards Dan with a big smile
on his face, he had been waiting for this day for ages. They hugged, they
kissed, they stared into each other’s eyes for so so long. But god knows, they
would be doing the exact same thing right before they die after they have met
for 6 years.
"Did I ever tell you
how beautiful your eyes are?” Dan tried to force his tears back into those
god damn glands, covering the sadness with awkward laughter. “Well, yes
you have and yours are obsessing too.” Phil faked the most dazzling smile
he could ever have on his face, wanted to give his love the best memories of
him.
The last minute wasn’t as
miserable as they have imagined it to be. As the white spot in the sky enlarged
into a lustrous ball of red-orange flame, their lips collided and hands held
firmly. No more worries or panic, just peace. At least they could die in each
other’s arms.
