Inside CSU’s new Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion
Thanks to a $1.4 million gift from Medical Mutual of Ohio, Cleveland State Universityrecently completed an all-season tennis facility for use by the men’s and women’s tennis teams as well as the broader community.
The Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion is the only on-campus, indoor tennis arena in the Horizon League and the only facility of its kind in downtown Cleveland.
Tennis is a longstanding varsity program at CSU, with a history dating back to the 1930s (when tennis was among the athletics offerings at CSU’s precursor, Fenn College). The men’s team has won five Horizon League titles and made five NCAA tournaments over the past nine years. The women’s team is the reigning Horizon League regular season champion and has a streak of 10 straight winning seasons.
