Centers on two men who decided to accomplish a list of things called “The Bucket List”. Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson) is a wealthy man who’s been in and out of marriage, and isn’t the typical family guy. On the other side, Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman) is a middle class car mechanic and engaged in a longtime marriage with a big family. The two met when they became roommates after being hospitalized and diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite their differences, the two went on an adventure to complete their bucket list and spend it on their final days.
This is not your typical “the character dies then you cry” movie. Director Rob Reiner made it more than most cliché movies about cancer patients. And by “more than”, I mean a whole lot different. The movie totally moved me. From the moment I pressed “play” until the movie ended, there was this joy and entertainment I felt the whole time. I must say Jack Nicholson did really amazing in this movie. I never thought someone like him could make me burst into tears and tickle my heart. Pairing two of the most respected veterans in Hollywood, alongside with its remarkable story, this movie is definitely astounding.
