Frustrated and wanting to help Phos recklessly attempt to fight, often ending up with a limb or two shattered, until the leader Kongou gives them the task of documenting natural history. However once they start digging Phos begins to realise things may not be what they seem.

The Abyss is a large chasm that stretches further than has yet been explored and is full of mysterious creatures and ancient relics. However descending into it comes at a price; the further down you go the more excruciating the consequences of ascending are. When junior diver Riko meets the amnesiac robot boy Reg on one of the uppermost levels she decides they should venture down into the Abyss to find her missing mother and help regain his memories. Starts off cute but gets real dark real quick.
