The first taco of the day was a solid guajillo pork with a hit of sweet and bright dragon fruit. With a bit of extra salt I could eat this one all day.

Dayne’s Craft Barbecue brought one of the more interesting tacos of the day. The meat has a good crunchy crispy texture that stood out from the crowd.
I didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast tacos but the smoked brisket tacos were pretty decent. The very basic lettuce and cheese belied the smoky and well-seasoned brisket.
Birrieria & Taqueria Cortez is one of two local trucks that sprang up and into popularity recently in Fort Worth. Even just after opening for the day, they quickly gathered a full line of cars waiting for tacos.
They were really, really good. Almost like mini quesadillas, three tacos were pliable and filled with cheese and beef. They were savory, beefy, rich, and creamy from the cheese. I almost didn’t mind the juices and grease spilling out onto my shirt and seatbelt.
Definitely worth a visit, just make sure you have napkins or wet wipes on your visit.
