If the trompo didn’t get you then maybe the close up will.
After work I decided to try more Lewisville tacos and wait out the insane DFW traffic before going home. Ale Taco was a very good choice. Trompo style pastor, with crispy edges and earthy spices, almost perfect on its own. The orange salsa was a good kick for the tacos, the green not bad either. I’ll definitely be going back.

This little taqueria South of Dallas was tucked in with a tire shop. Nearly missed it due to the low-key nature of it.
They had pretty good pastor done trompo style. I was told to come back Friday or Saturday evening to get it fresh off the trompo while it’s on the mesquite fired grill. Might do that sometime if I’m out that way.
It was the battle of the Dons pitting two taquerias’ pastor tacos assassin’s each other. Don Pedro, with the classic pastor flavor and pickled vegetables just barely beat Don Miguel, but both were damn good.
Best pastor tacos I’ve had so far ever, and I got a swarthy Mexican short order cook to slip me the tongue. (Lengua!) Los Tacos H is legit.
Los Paisano’s! Great pastor tacos near the Stockyards, and the queso fundido was on point as well. Big ups to my homie Jessica Jones for the suggestion and dining partner.

Solid taco experience but a bit slow so I’m glad I got my order in early.
Pretty good tacos. The pastor was my favorite. The soya was pretty rich and the pineapple helped cut through it.
For a hot second before local breweries reopened, Bad Spanish Tacos was doing special taco deliveries a couple days a week. I tried a few of the options and found the smoked pastor to be my favorite.
After painting at the Fabrication Yard in Dallas I stopped in for a couple tacos at Tacos Mariachi. Definitely recommend them.
Birrieria & Taqueria Cortez is one of two local trucks that sprang up and into popularity recently in Fort Worth. Even just after opening for the day, they quickly gathered a full line of cars waiting for tacos.
They were really, really good. Almost like mini quesadillas, three tacos were pliable and filled with cheese and beef. They were savory, beefy, rich, and creamy from the cheese. I almost didn’t mind the juices and grease spilling out onto my shirt and seatbelt.
Definitely worth a visit, just make sure you have napkins or wet wipes on your visit.
