Severus Snape x fem!reader

The busy classrooms and coridors of Hogwarts were dark and quiet now and most of the people living there were far of in their own worlds.

It wasn't a surpise though that a certain potions Professor still was awake, grading essays and trying not to think about his newest colleague. Y/N Y/L/N. The Y/E/C eyes always looking into his black ones when they talked or the hand Y/N would randomly place on his arm or thigh from time to time without noticing. He was trying to ignore all those things that night and distract himself with work.

Sadly even that activity wasn't interesting enough to take his mind off of Y/N. Her bright smiles and elegant movements made their way back into his mind everytime he took his eyes off of the piece of parchment laying on his desk.

'Wicked witch!', he thought and rose from his desk to finally get some much needed sleep. Severus wouldn't admit it but over the last months he grew to like the woman who made his life harder than it had to be by just being near him.

The classroom door slammed shut behind Severus and he locked it before strutting off into the the darkness of the dungeons. What he didn't expect to see however was a person walking towards him. She wassed dressed in a white nightgown which made her look like an angel... Lost in the dark. Or maybe looking for a lost soul to heal. As she came closer her beautiful Y/H/C hair was lightly flowing behind her and the only thing missing were the biggest and most impressive white wings on her back.

Luckily those weren't there. Otherwise Severus might have thought he was imagining things and he certainly wasn't a big fan of that.

"Merlin! Severus! I nearly didn't see you there. Why is it you are always hiding in the dark? I was about to have a heart attack.", the beautiful woman laughed. Severus didn't notice her approaching anymore after he concentrated on taking in her mesmerizing features like she would just crumble to dust in the floor.

"I'm sorry. I was just... thinking. I have a lot of classes to teach tomorrow.", how stupid did that sound? What kind of excuse was that supposed to be? Severus understood why his feelings were onesided. Of course he did. Which person would like him? And why would somebody as amazing, lovely, beautiful and attractive as Y/N even get close to him?

'She' s just nice to you because she pitys you', Severus cleared his mind and tried to listen to what she told him but to no avail. He just stood there, nodding, hopping she didn't ask him anymore questions.

"Well then... I'll best be off to bed. And you aswell. It seems like you really need some sleep, Severus", she finally said and leaned forward to kiss the tall man's cheek.

"Goodnight, Severus."

"Goodnight Y/N.", Severus answered and absentmindedly touched his cheek.
