In this video, I teach you how to make a real-life version of Burger-Steak Curry from Pokemon Sword and Shield. You can make it indoors, but it tastes even better if you make it on the grill. Watch it in action here!
Burger Patties:
- ½ pound ground beef
- ½ tsp plain gelatin, optional
- 2 TBL breadcrumbs
- ¼ onion, grated
- 1 clove garlic, rough chop
- Two pinches of salt
- Pepper to taste
Curry aromatics:
1 scallion, minced (white and green, keep separate)1 tsp garlic clove, minced1 tsp ginger, mincedFor curry:
- 1 TBL butter
- 1 block curry dex roux
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp gravy booster
Rice, to serve
- In a small food processor, place peanuts, breadcrumbs, onion, and garlic. Pulse until a paste forms. Place ground meat in a medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the reserved paste and gelatin if you’re using it. Mix until mixture becomes a little sticky. Form into small patties and place in the fridge until ready to use.
- I cook this over coals in a carbon steel pan. However, you can easily cook this inside on a stove.
- Place your favorite frying pan over high heat. Add your ghee and allow it to get hot. Place your patties in the ghee and fry. Once juices start to rise to the top, carefully flip. Cook another minute or two then set aside on a clean plate.
- Add your aromatics and cook for about a minute or until fragrant. Add chicken broth and curry dex roux. Bring to a simmer. Add gravy booster and salt and pepper to taste. Place reserved patties into the pan and cooke for another minute or two.
- Serve hot over rice.
