Shade// (Bruce Banner X Reader)
Working with Bruce all these years have taught you a lot. One is that you can't stand him. Bruce was kind of an asshole when it comes to his work. Every time something went wrong he blamed you and most of the time it was something you had no control over, like if he hadn't gotten enough sleep the night before and he messed up. You never really used the word hate but you hated Bruce with a burning passion. No matter how much you tried to get along with him he always got worse. Picking at you, pushing your buttons, leaving you out of important discussions, telling Tony you were messing things up, pretty much every textbook thing you could do to someone you don't want around. One day he went a full day without telling me what were suppose to be working on but instead gave me a stack of papers to sort that turned out to just be stuff that was gonna be shredded. Today you had it. Bruce was being extra difficult today. Yelling at you for no reason, discarding all the work you spent hours perfecting and just downright being rude.
"Look here Bruce-" You were cut off before you could finish your sentence
"Its Doctor Banner to you"
"Shut up, Bruce! I have been working here for 3 years now and not once have you ever been nice to me. I've tried to get along with you but you won't even try to at least tolerate me. I'm sick of it. News flash I'm not going anywhere so man up. I mean I know you are obviously intimidated having a woman in the lab just as smart as you but suck it up," You could see him clenching his fist but you didn't care.
With Bruce not liking you, you have had your fair share of run-ins with Hulk. You weren't scared of him anymore. Especially now that Tony built you something to protect your self against him.
"Oh, and another thing. You have one more time to jeopardize my job before I beat the crap out of you"
Bruce looked at you in disbelief and anger. His black rim glasses were now sitting on the table beside him. Bruce walked towards you causing you to back yourself into a wall. Bruces face inches away from yours you could feel his heartbeat on your chest with how close his body is to yours. Something about him being this close to had butterflies in your stomach
"You listen here. I don't know who you think you are but I run this lab and I will not have some girl off the streets with only 2 PhDs come in here and try and tell me what to do. Do you hear me? You don't understand that I could choke the life out of you and never even change a shade." He whispered that last part in your ear as he put his hands up against the wall on either side of your head.
He pulled his body away from you looking into your eyes. His eyes had turned a darker shade of brown and a vain was popping out of his forehead. He had rolled up the sleeves on his coat which showed the lower part of his biceps which was catching your eye. As you looked at this new side of bruce you had never seen before something came over you. You grabbed him by his collar pulling his lips to yours . His hands found their way to the back of your head tangling his fingers inside your hair. He pulled away from the kiss and smiled before saying:
"Took you long enough"
