Eggsy listened to the steady noises of the machine, focusing on every heart beat in anticipation.
Any day now. She’d wake up soon.
That’s what they’d said.
That’s what they’d said for three weeks.
“You saved me”
“My knight in shining armour”
He smiled, running his thumb over her cold wrist.
“How’re you feeling today, huh?” He asked, trying to smile for her “I bet you’re pretty bored, stuck in your head like this. I know I would be”
He waited for a response, like he had all day.
Nothing.
“Would you like me to read something?”
He reached over to the pile of books Merlin had left for him, picking up the biggest he could find.
“The Sword in the Stone”
He let out a snort, rolling his eyes. He had no doubt that almost every book he’d been given had something to do with fairytales. That man sure did have a strange sense of humour.
“I suppose this will do-”
His heart leapt in his throat.
She had squeezed his hand.
She was there.
She was listening.
He grinned, leaning forward.
“You feel like waking up, Princess?” He asked, looking for an other sign she was coming too.
Eggsy waited until he was sure she wouldn’t move again, sitting back in his chair and opening the book.
“That’s alright, you take your time” he patted her hand before focussing on the book once more “I’d wait forever (Y/n). Just as long as you’re okay”

The first thing she processed was how bright it was. Everything was a painful white colour. No shadows at all. Just blinding light.
She listened for anything but only could hear a faint buzz.
Where was she?
(Y/n) tried to move her hand but as she couldn’t see anything she wasn’t sure if she had succeeded. Her body felt numb, out of place. Like her mind was the only thing left, floating around in the light.
As her senses returned to her, he was the first thing she noticed. The first thing that caught her attention.
His snored echoed around the large hospital room, along with his steady breathing in-between each sharp snort. He was curled up in an uncomfortable arm chair, a blanket thrown over him messily - probably by one of the doctors. His mouth hung open at an awkward angle, head thrown back in his seat. But even in his deep sleep, he still held onto her hand, finger firmly wrapped around her wrist.
“Eggsy…”
It was barely over a whisper, her throat dry and scratchy. She looked around the room, trying to figure out how long she had been resting. She glanced at the clock on the wall, but couldn’t hear it ticking. She could only hear soft snores and steady breathing.
“Eggsy” her voice cracked half way but it was enough to make him snap awake, eyes wide in fear.
“(Y/n)” he got up from his chair, placing both hands on her shoulders “you’re awake”
The girl raised her hand up, running her fingers over his slight stubble.
“How long have you been waiting here?” She frowned, still lightly dizzy.
“A month” he shrugged “maybe longer. I’m not sure”
She let out a croaky laugh, pulling him close to her.
“I missed you” he mumbled, burying his face into her neck.
“I missed you too” she admitted, trying to get her eyes to focus “it was strange. I could feel everything around me but at the same time I couldn’t. Like I was underwater or listening through a wall”
“I didn’t want to leave” he whispered “I didn’t what you to wake up alone”
“It’s okay” she smiled “I’m alright”
“(Y/n), I did a lot of thinking while you were out, and well…” He bit his lip, trying to find the right words “I just…I can’t see myself waiting for a month for someone else, do you understand?”
“Not really”
“What I’m trying to say is…well” he pulled back, staring her right in the eye “I’m in love with you”

Eggsy practically ran down the corridor. (Y/n) had been on a mission in Russia for the past week or so, only able to Facetime him in the few hours she was meant to be resting. She was trying to track down a notorious criminal, wanted for multiple accounts of murder, kidnapping and various other crimes. His nick name was the Dragon, as he would do anything for a bit of money. He didn’t have limitations onto how far he would stretch for a bit of gold.
Naturally, the boy had been worrying, as her calls got shorter and less enthusiastic by the day. But now it didn’t matter. Because she was back. Safe.
“And you have no idea where they are now?”
He frowned, peering inside Merlin’s open office. He was currently on the phone with someone, his face bright red in anger.
“They vanished” he jeered “People don’t just vanish, Gareth”
Eggsy picked up J.B for comfort, a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach. Something was wrong. Very wrong.
“She’s the youngest agent we have, why the hell did you think that was a good idea?” Merlin snarled “She barely has any experience in the field, let alone-“
“Merlin” Eggsy interrupted, his heart pounding “What’s wrong? What’s happened?”
“It’s (Y/n)” he admitted quietly, moving his ear away from the phone “This idiot thought it would be okay to let her go off on her own”
Eggsy felt his heart drop into his stomach, clutching onto his dog.
“Is she-?”
“No, she’s alive” he shook his head quickly “For now at least”
Eggsy narrowed his eyes.
“What’s happened then?”
“She’s been kidnapped” Merlin grumbled “By the Dragon”

“Let’s go over the plan one more time” Merlin spoke into the boy’s ear through his tiny ear piece as he checked the ammo in the gun on his waist. He fiddled with his umbrella as he listened to the clear instructions.
“Whilst we distract all the men we can you sneak in and search the lower floors for (y/n). There are various jail cell like rooms where the Dragon normally does his interrogations. I have no doubt she’ll be held there somewhere, other agents were in the past”
“So you’ve done this before then” Eggsy whispered, peering over the car he was hiding behind. The rest of the agents were slowly falling into place, getting ready to make as much noise as possible.
“Yes” Merlin’s tone darkened “But I must warn you Eggsy that none of those mission were successful. Our captured either died on the way out or we weren’t there fast enough”
“That isn’t going to happen this time, Merlin” Eggsy reassured him “I won’t let it. I won’t lose her”
He listened to the banging of metal and the gun shots for only a second before taking off, slipping inside a side entrance whilst the men ran to the front one, desperate to see who was making a ruckus. This was a matter of time.
They didn’t know how long (Y/n) could withhold torture before she cracked, she was a new agent, barely months out of passing her final exam. Valuable information could be leaked if she was left there too long. They also knew that even if she didn’t tell them anything, they would soon work out she was a Kingsman agent and sell her off to some thugs for a high price. There was no doubt that they would definitely break her and the Kingsman had many enemies, very willing to pay a lot of money to find out some of their secrets.
But that wasn’t really what Eggsy was worried about. He was worried about her. Small happy (Y/n) who made him muffins when he was having a bad day, who played board games with his little sister when he needed to do important work, who sat up most nights Facetiming him. There was no way he could lose that. There was no way he could lose her.
Merlin had been right, she was being held in one of the various cells on the lower floor of the building.
Eggsy had been preparing himself the full flight there for what she might look like, what state she might be in. It didn’t matter though. No amount of preparation could stop the tight feeling in his chest.
She was tied to a chair, body slumped forward as if she didn’t have enough energy to support herself any longer. Her right eye was so swollen it couldn’t open, her full face littered in black and purple bruises, coated in her own blood. Some of the fingers on either hand were pulled at awkward angles, making him gag. Her breathing was laboured, almost forced, telling him that something was definitely wrong with her ribs.
“(y/n)” he called out softly, trying to see if she was still conscious.
“Mmmm” she let out a slight groan, trying to lift her head. But it was too much.
He let out an unsteady breath, quickly picking the lock and climbing inside her cell.
“It’s alright now, we’re here to take you home” he cut her bonds as gently as he could, catching her body as she slumped to the cold floors “Everything’s going to be alright. You’re safe now”
“Eggsy?” She asked, her voice hoarse from screaming out in pain for hours.
“I’m right here” He lifted her up walking slowly down the corridor.
By some magic, determination and pure luck they all managed to escape with only minor wounds. Eggsy had been shot in the shoulder but refused to leave the girl’s side at any point, holding her hand the full flight back.
“Everything’s alright now” he whispered when they were finally alone, reaching down to press a soft kiss on her forehead.
“You saved me” she grumbled, a small smile on her bruised face.
“I suppose I did” Eggsy grinned, winking.
“My knight in shining armour” she muttered before falling into a dull sleep.

(Y/n) let out an aggressive groan, throwing down her textbook. She had a very important mission to go on tomorrow, and had been focusing all of her attention at the very thick and small printed file she had been handed a week ago. And yet whenever she tested herself, it was as if she had merely glanced at the papers, and not poured her heart and soul into learning it. No matter what she did – helpful little rhymes, flash cards, writing out the file countless times – it was not sticking. Which probably meant she was going to fail.
Which also probably meant she was going to die.
Getting up from her desk, she strolled towards the small pile of presents in the corner of her room. It had been her birthday a few days prior, and she had received many lovely gifts, but one in particular was on her mind. A very large bottle of champagne.
Although she knew it was a bad idea, her hand still wrapped around the bottle, temptation getting the better of her.
*One drink won’t hurt…right?*
And that is why a few hours later, as Eggsy was passing by her room to go to his own, the boy found her lying on the floor, the empty bottle next to her and a bottle of wine now opened and pressed against her chest in a warm, loving embrace.
“(Y/n)?” he frowned, stepping slowly into her room, not fully believing his eyes.
“In the flesh” she replied, a light slur in her words and a big grin on her face.
“**What are you doing?**”
“**Getting drunk, I thought it was obvious**” she held out the bottle in his general direction “Wanna join me?”
“No” he shook his head, moving closer and sitting down next to her “I’ll keep you company though”
“Hmm, no fun” she shook her head, taking a quick drink before placing the wine away from her, feeling fairly lightheaded.
“So, I thought you had the-“
“The Mitchel Operation tomorrow? Yes, I do. But I can’t remember anything about it for shit, so I’m probably going to get myself and the rest of the team killed. And if I’m going to die, I might as well be half-cut when I go down”
“You make a fair point, but I’m sure you can remember some of it” He reassured her.
“No I can’t because I’m a useless agent” she sniffed, an overwhelming feeling of sadness rushing through her that only drunks can experience. Eggsy shuffled down so he was now on the floor right next to her, the two at eye level.
“That’s not true, you’re one of the best in the field” he shook his head.
“Lies!” she exclaimed, shamelessly letting a few stray tears dribble down her face “I’m awful at being stealthy, I’m constantly dropping my weapons and Merlin said that my reaction time was abysmal last mission, which is 100% true-”
“Okay, so maybe some things need a little improvement, but that doesn’t make you useless. You’re still pretty new to this.” Eggsy argued, gently wiping away her tears with the back of his hand “You’re always gonna struggle with certain parts of this job, so do I. But you’re so good at the other bits that it doesn’t matter”
“Like what?” she scoffed “Falling flat on my ass?”
“I mean, that does seem to be a particular talent of yours” he teased, to which she responded by lightly hitting him on the shoulder “But things like your problem solving is very impressive. Remember when we were in that jam in the Netherlands; you were the one that came up with the idea that saved an entire squad- hell the world, and you brushed it off as nothing”
“I guess”
“And you say your reaction time is bad, but no one else has managed to take me down in hand to hand combat faster than you, so it can’t be that awful”
“I think you’re just being nice, but my ego appreciates it so thank you Unwin” the girl smiled “Compliments from you are hard to come by”
“Credit where credit is due”
She turned onto her side, shuffling closer and placing a wet kiss on the boy’s cheek. He stiffened slightly in response, caught off guard and unable to hide the pink flush that came to his face. Then she tried to push herself up, almost falling straight forward onto her face before he reacted, breaking out of his daze and catching her quickly, getting both of them up from the ground in one swift and smooth movement.
“I believe a whole bottle of champagne may have been excessive” the girl groaned, head falling back as she let out a sigh.
“I don’t think half a bottle of wine helped much either” Eggsy mused, making (Y/n) grin and let out a quiet snort. She was growing very sleepy very quickly, hardly able to keep her eyes open. The way that the man was holding her – pressed against his warm chest, both arms wrapped around his neck, one hand on her back and the other supporting her legs from behind her knees – was definitely not helping. She let out a content sigh as he carried her towards her bed, missing his warmth as he placed her down gently, but deciding that blanket wrapped around her would do just fine.
“Thank you, Eggsy” she mumbled, half asleep, catching one of his hands lazily and giving it a little squeeze before snuggling into her pillow.
“You’re welcome (Y/n)” he smiled, moving a stray strand of hair from her face “Good luck for tomorrow Mrs, because with this kind of hangover you’re gonna need it”

She shook her head quickly, the voice swimming in her mind, echoing. She knew that voice.
Her mothers voice.

She was sitting in the conference room, listening to the new mission, taking notes down haphazardly.
Eggsy nudged gently at her from under the table, making the girls head shoot up. He sent her a cheeky wink, (Y/n) returning the favour before looking away, a light blush on her cheeks.
The two had had this kind of back and forth from day one ; he had caught her wrist before she tripped down some stairs, swinging her round to hit his chest. And since then he hardly left her alone, always trying to get her attention in some way or another.
But (Y/n) worked with Merlin, constantly at the mans side, observing every little thing he did so one day she would take over.
She had originally tried to be a field agent but Merlin noticed her obsession with technology and quickly took her under his wing.
This meant that Eggsy barely had any time with the girl, only catching glances of her from across the room. But now was a perfect moment to grab her attention. If Merlin would only stop nattering on about how important this mission was.
“Eggsy, would you please stop bothering (Y/n) and pay attention”
The young agent rolled his eyes, turning to face the man with a look of distaste.
“I would hardly call it bothering” Eggsy grumbled, but complied all the same.
“Roxy, Eggsy, you two must pose as a young rich couple and attend the party” Merlin repeated, clicking on a tablet in his hand to display a new picture to the group “from there you shall locate the target and-”
“Why aren’t (Y/n) and I the couple?” Eggsy frowned “She’s been here way longer than Roxy and is more qualified, no offence”
At the mention of her name the girl looked up from her notepad, placing her pen down onto the table.
“He has a point” Roxy agreed “and none taken”
“I-” Merlin stopped, unable to form a sentence for a moment “I feel that Roxy is more suited to this mission”
“With all due respect sir, this is an extremely important and dangerous mission. Roxy and Eggsy are both new agents, who would be trapped in a room with some of the most dangerous people on the planet” (Y/n) frowned, locking eyes with her mentor “Now I understand that both have proved themselves to be capable agents, and only Eggsy is young enough to play the rich Lord but surely it would make more sense to have at least one experienced agent on this mission”
“It would make more sense” Merlin leant down, his voice low “But you are not an experienced field agent (Y/n). Know when to speak your mind and when to hold your tongue”
It only took a moment for the words to register in her mind but when they did she was out of the room in an instant.
She heard Eggsy call after her but kept moving. She had to get away.
At first she had been filled with nothing but anger. How dare he say that! She was qualified! She was!
But then the self doubt began to set in.
And the voice started.
He’s right you know.
You’ve never even killed someone, how can you call yourself an agent.
You’re worthless.
You’re nothing.
She stopped sleeping. She barely ate anything or left her room.
When everyone was asleep she would sneak into a training room and punch the shit out of something, trying to make the voice stop.
But it never did.

Her bloodied knuckle smacked against the material once again sending a booming noise around the small dark training room.
Visions flew passed her eyes.
*Her mother screaming for her. The look of panic on her face.*
*Merlin pulling away from her like she was a dangerous cobra about the strike. The way he held up his gun to her forehead.*
*Eggsy kissing Roxy. Eggsy rejecting her.*
None of this was real though. It was all in her head. She was alone with her horrible visions.
It was just her, no one else was awake that early. At least that’s what she thought.
She stopped to catch her breath before kicking the bag as hard as she could, adrenaline rushing through her aching bones.
She would show them.
She was as good as any field agent.
She raised her fist one again but felt a pull on her wrist, her body freezing in fright.
“(Y/n), stop”
She refused to turn around to look at him, her chest heaving up and down. Her vision blurred, tears mixing with the sweat on her face.
“I can’t” she whispered, her voice rough and quiet.
“Yes you can” Eggsy placed his other hand on her shoulder, spinning her around gently “you’ve already pushed yourself too far. Stop before you pass out”
“It’s not enough” she shook her head, staring down at the ground. She couldn’t bring herself to look at him “I’ll never be enough”
“You’re already enough”
“I’m useless Eggsy” she whispered, trying to control her breathing “I couldn’t save my mum, I couldn’t become a proper kingsman, I couldn’t go on this mission”
“Come here” he wrapped his arms around her torso, moving one hand into her damp hair “you aren’t thinking straight, when was the last time you slept? Or ate something?”
“I don’t know”
“You need rest”
“I need to become better” she tried to push him away, turning back to the punching back “for my mum, for kingsman…for you”
“(Y/n), listen”
“I mean why wouldn’t he chose Roxy. She’s pretty. She’s smart. She’s fast-”
“(Y/n)-”
“I get it. It’s fine. I can never be like her. You don’t have to explain why you’ve do doubt fallen in love with her-”
“Can you stop your delusional, jealous rant and fucking listen?”
The girl froze, trembling lightly.
“I haven’t fallen in love with Roxy okay. I love you”
She turned around very slowly.
“Don’t play games Eggsy”
“I’m not” he moved towards her slowly, brushing a strand of hair out of her face.
“Everyone who has ever loved me has either died or left” she admitted “what makes you any different?”
He bent down to place a kiss on her forehead.
“I don’t know” he replied.
There was a few moments of silence before the pair slowly made their way out of the room. Eggsy glanced down at the girl under his arm, a frown on his face,
“You are good enough, you know”
“Do you really think that, or are you just trying to save me?”
“It’s the truth”

(Y/n) stared straight ahead, blocking out everything but her own steady breaths and the doctors words.
“That’s it, one foot after the other”
“Come on (Y/n), just one more try”
“I know it’s hard”
She grunted as quietly as you could, refusing to admit her pain. She could do this. She could.
Slowly she placed one foot forward, leaning against the poles at either side of her for support. She gently transfered her weight, grimacing. This was her third attempt that day, everytime she would make a couple of steps and have to stop, or her legs would give out despite the support.
But this time she was determined. Because this time Eggsy was watching.
She opened her eyes only for a second to see him smile and her in encouragment. The girl smiled back, pulling herself forward once again. She had to reach him.
“Perfect (Y/n), just like that”
She glanced at the doctor with a wide grin on her face before moving again. She ignored the pain from her legs and arms and pushed forward, focussing on Eggsy’s smiling face.
He watched her, grinning and clapping like an idiot from the other end of the room.
“You can do it” he smirked, slowly rising from his chair to meet her at the end of the walkway “Come on”
With that she was practically running, blocking out the warnings from the doctor to take it easy. In seconds she was wrapped in his arms, placing a light kiss on his neck and then chin.
“I’m so proud of you” he chuckled “But you need to take it easy now”
“I’m fine” the girl panted, leaning against him for support.
“Sure you are” Eggsy rolled his eyes but didn’t say anything more.

“Eggsy! Stop! Put me down!” the girl giggled, hitting at his chest gently “I can walk just fine now”
“No you can’t” Eggsy countered, using his foot to kick open the door “The doctor said light exercise”
“And walking from one room to the next is too strenuous” (Y/n) drawled, crying out in surprise when she was thrown onto her bed.
“Stop complaining, I know you love it”
“Just a little bit”
Eggsy let out a quiet chuckle, sitting down next to her on the bed. He watched as she garbbed the blankets, curling herself into a cute little ball next to him, just her head peeking out of the covers.
“As adorable as that is, could you please sit properly for a second?”
(Y/n) rolled her eyes but did as he asked, keeping the blanket around her waist. Eggsy gently took her face into his hands, staring striaght into her eyes.
“You know I love you, right?”
“Yes, you tell me everyday”
“Good”
He reached into his pocket, pulling out a small black box.
“Oh my god…” She knew exactly what that meant. He didnt even need to speak, simply opening the box to show her a silver ring with a large blue diamond.
“It was my grandmothers”
“Oh Eggsy”
“Is that a yes?”
“Its a definitely”
She threw her arms around him, kissing all over his face in a fit of giggles.

If (Y/n) was known for one thing, it was for her seemingly immoveable emotional state. No matter what was going on, be it terrorist attack or imminent death, the woman could not be stirred from her calm outer appearance. Obviously on the inside she was freaking out, but never seemed to show her panic, putting her team mates at ease with her steady demeanour and un-rattled nerve. All but one teammate that is.
Despite the fact that everyone had assured him that she had always been like this, Eggsy Unwin could not understand it. Whenever he was panicking and she was simply next to him speaking the group through the next steps in a calm monotone voice, he couldn’t help but wonder if she was secretly a high tech robot invented by the Kingsman tech geniuses. It was no wonder she often led missions, her cool attitude and fast mind had saved them at many opportunities. But even though he had learned to trust the girl, Eggsy couldn’t deny that her lack of reaction terrified him.
That was of course until one Saturday night, where the two had been on an espionage mission together – which had of course gone perfectly – and were now relaxing in their hotel rooms. Eggsy had been down at the front desk, asking for some more towels – the ones that he had were now covered in blood and dirt – and was now on his way back down the hallway to his room, when he heard a strange noise coming from (Y/n)’s room. He moved towards the door, pressing his ear quietly against it and listening intently.
It almost sounded like crying, which made his heart thump widely in his chest. Maybe she was just watching the TV extra loud, but curiosity and concern got the better of him. (Y/n) had her heart in her stomach as she watched her boyfriend walk down the street from behind a corner. He had been distant from her for about a month now, sneaking off at night from their shared apartment and disappearing for days on end. He had always had a slight private nature, keeping to himself mostly and never disclosing enough information to truly know him or get a full picture of the kind of guy he was. But with (Y/n) something was different; he was much more vulnerable around her, a softer side of him shown when they were alone together.
She knew he had a rougher upbringing than her, and although he didn’t enjoy discussing it, he had with her. He had told her everything about his life – well, at least that’s what she believed – opened up about his true feelings and fears, pushed away that wall he had placed up and shown her a real person. It made her feel special that he would choose her out of countless others to trust. But now he was drawing back into himself again. And she wanted to know why.
It had started small at first; he couldn’t spend a few nights with her as he usually did after his work as he had to work late, then the weekends were also off the table. They instead talked on the phone for a few hours, the man sounding very run down and tired but brushing it off whenever she asked him if he was okay. Then he started to draw back even further, missing countless planned dates and little meet ups. Soon he stopped calling, she hadn’t had a text from him in at least a week, and at that point the girl had decided that enough was enough and she was going to get to the bottom of things. She devised a plan to track him the next day from when he left the tailor shop, snooping in on what he was really up to and then she would confront him if he was lying later on.
A large part of her was terrified of what she might found out as she tracked him around London, but her curiosity and determination were too overbearing to stop her, the girl following close behind every move he made that day until he finally stopped.

She was the woman who held him after he had a nightmare, rubbing his back and kissing the top of his head until he could breathe without crying anymore. She was the one who he cooked with on an early Sunday morning, listening to old fifties music and she was the one who he swung around the kitchen as they danced clumsily, laughing and singing at the top of their lungs. She was the one he claimed to love.

She couldn’t help herself, walking out of her hiding spot and right to the shop window, peering in with clouding eyes. Eggsy and the woman stood in front of a mirror, and he was carefully placing a very expensive looking necklace on her, the woman placing her left hand over her heart as she watched him with lovesick eyes. On that hand, clear as day, was a large sparkling diamond.
Eggsy turned to glance out of the window and the two locked eyes, all the colour draining from his face as he cursed quietly.
That was all the girl needed to finally put the puzzle pieces together. He wasn’t staying late for work or too busy to come and spend time with her because he was doing so much overtime, he had fallen in love with another woman and didn’t have the guts to tell her. Or even leave her properly. He had merely distanced himself, faded out of her life.
(Y/n) refused to cry, even though her throat burned and her eyes were filling quickly. Instead she clenched her jaw and walked away from the sight, pulling her coat closer to her body as she stormed down the street. Her legs wobbled so much from the shock however that she couldn’t get away fast enough, ignoring the voice that called after her as she rushed down the street.
She made random turns, not focusing on where she planted her feet until she collided with a hard chest, looking up in fright as she was pushed back.
“Oh, sorry” she mumbled, trying to walk past the large man “I wasn’t paying attention”
“It’s okay, (Y/n)”
The use of her name made the girl froze, narrowing her eyes as she studied the man closer.
“Sorry do I know you?-” she felt a sharp pain in the back of her head and was forced to her knees, eyes closing against her will as she dropped to the ground.
“No, it seems you don’t” the man replied, (Y/n) just hearing his response before she lost consciousness.

The mission was simple, pose as a rich young man and his fiancé, infiltrate the gangs headquarters – which was cleverly disguised as a simple jewellers – plant the bug behind the counter by placing it on the necklace and get out. Everything was well thought out, right down to the pair of socks he would be wearing, but no one had taken in to account the very inquisitive (Y/n), who was too curious and loving for her own good. As soon as the two had locked eyes, Eggsy disregarded everything he had been taught. He knew that he should simply look away and ignore her, but he couldn’t bring himself to betray her like that.
So instead he stopped what he was doing and rushed to open the door, calling out for her as she ran down the street, his heart breaking as he saw how much pain she was in.
“(Y/n)?” Roxy frowned, moving towards him “Who the hell-“
“She’s the girl I’ve been seeing, and-shit, she doesn’t know” He groaned “Fuckin hell, this is gonna be hard to explain”
“I think we have bigger issues to worry about than your love life” Roxy motioned towards the men flooding into the room from a secret door hidden in the wall. Whilst they were distracted the woman behind the counter had pressed the panic button, alerting the gang that something was wrong, and now the members filled the small shop, shutters closing over the windows and the door locking on its own, trapping them.
“Your *fiancé* is right, agent” The gang leader smirked “Spike, with me” he motioned towards a hulking man with a large bat in his hand “We should go check that little lady made it home okay. The rest of you can stay here and get acquainted”
“No!” Eggsy cried, charging forward to try and stop them from leaving through the secret door but falling down harshly when a gang member pulled him back, kicking at his ribs whilst he was down. He had no choice but to try and fight his way to the door, and try as they might, the pair of Kingsmen were ultimately overpowered and knocked out.
Eggsy’s last thought was (Y/n). He wondered how terrified she was at that moment.
He wondered if she was alive enough to still feel fear.

Another punch landed on the side of Eggsy’s face, the man turning and spitting out the pool of blood that had collected in his mouth before grinning up at the gang leader with a cheeky smirk.
“Is that the best you’ve got?” he snorted, trying to fight against his instinct to wince “Surely you can do better”
He had Roxy had been brought to some shady abandoned building, and were now being interrogated for any information that would be beneficial to the villains best interest. Roxy was still unconscious, so they had been working on just Eggsy for around twenty minutes now, the agent refusing to give anything but sass to the man.
And he was beginning to grow impatient.
“Not in the slightest” the gang leader shrugged, sending him a wicked smile “Should I go show your little girlfriend, huh? Make her scream out for help? Make her beg for you to save her-?”
He was stopped from his threats by a loud thumping sound, a look of surprise coming over his face before he dropped to the ground, a crumpled mess. (Y/n) drummed her fingers on the table, listening to the boy babble on with mild interest. Even though they were barely old enough to drink, the pair had spent almost every Friday afternoon in the local bar together since they had met, chatting away and sneaking pints when the barman wasn’t watching. But this time it was different.
She couldn’t just lose herself in the mindless laughter of the room as she used to; ignoring the problem was not going to make it go away. She had to finally accept reality, and she cursed herself for not doing this sooner. She had been psyching herself up all week and couldn’t hold it off any longer, she had to come clean.
But looking at her friend’s happy face, she just couldn’t bear the idea of upsetting his good mood. She knew that like her, Eggsy lived a troubled life, and these little meet ups were a nice way to de-stress for both of them, to escape from all of their responsibilities and worries and just sit and act like normal kids. Tears began to fill up the young girl’s eyes but she refused to let them fall, sniffing and blinking madly as she tried to regain control over her emotions. Eggsy crossed his arms over his chest, looking away and muttering a string of curse words under his breath.
He found himself remembering the first time he had met her - she had a similar look of disappointment and despair on her face as she did in that moment. Sitting crumpled up on the stairs of their shared apartment block, the boy had come upon a girl around his age holding her herself in a tight embrace and crying softly into her knees, unruly hair falling all around the place. Even though his mother had asked him to hurry back with the milk and other things she had sent him out to get, he couldn’t bring himself to leave her sitting there like that. So after a lot of coaxing and bribing with a chocolate bar he had bought out of his own pocket money, the girl relaxed and finally stopped crying, instead laughing at his immature jokes and attempts to make her smile. She never did tell him why she was upset, or why her legs and arms were covered in bruises, but he had made her happy, and that was what was important. For that one small moment he had changed her day, made it brighter.

EGGSY UNWIN X READER - “I HAVE IT COVERED”

Eggsy jogged down the corridor, J.B clutched to his chest tightly, little soft ears flopping all over the place with speed. He flinched when one hit him in the face, but kept running, finally reaching the door to the main control room. Eggsy twisted the doorknob quickly, slipping inside the room silently. Yet still, with all his careful tactics, all eyes in the room turned toward him. The conversation fell silent, Merlin rolling his eyes and turning back toward the PowerPoint.

“What was it this time, Eggsy?” He asked,interrupting the boys answer “I don’t really care agent, that was rhetorical. Sit down”

“As I was saying” Merlin drawled as he watched Eggsy saunter down next to Roxy, smiling happily “This is the supposed next target, Miss
(Y/n) (Y/ln). Twenty years old, daughter to one of the richest men alive. She will be atending a ball tonight, the perfect time for the kidnapping to take place. Your mission is simple, make sure that doesn’t happen”

“Naturally, Roxy and Eggsy will go in posed as guests-”

“Uh, why?” Eggsy asked, studying the picture of the girl on the PowerPoint. Her (E/c) eyes shined with happiness, mouth pulled into a content smile. She held a young child in her arms, swinging him from his elbows. In a way, she reminded him of himself when he played with his little sister.

“Well, you are roughly the same age as her, meaning it will be easier for you to approach the target without being suspected” Merlin answered.

Eggsy nodded in agreement and motioned for the man to continue with the plan.

“Roxy will befriend her whilst you look for danger. The other agents will be posted at various exits if we need to make a quick escape. Got it, good. Dismissed”

Eggsy readjusted the sleeves of his suit, scanning the room for the target. She was easy to spot, dancing gracefully with her younger brother on her feet.

Her dress was made of beautiful black lace that ran up and down her arms and chest tightly, but puffed out slightly when it reached her waist. It was reasonably short, falling to just above her knees, showing off her high heeled black boots that looked very hard to walk in, let alone dance. Her (Y/hc) hair was down in loose waves, nails painted black. Stunning.

Eggsy shook his heads quickly, snapping out of his daze when the song finished. He watched as (Y/n) picked up her little brother, kissing his cheeks before passing him to his nanny - a Kingsmen agent in disguise, to make sure nothing happened to the youngest (Y/ln) child - before walking toward the bar to get a drink.

“Roxy-” Eggsy started.

“On it” she replied quickly, moving to stand next to the girl as she ordered.

“Oh my god, I love your shoes!” She squealed like an excited child “where did you get them?”

(Y/n) smiled lightly and turned to tell her. Eggsy lost interested and focused on his part of the mission. He looked around, noticing a few shady charcters all grouped together. They were all older gentlemen, reasonably buff, laughing merrily. They would have seemed like any other party guests, but every so often they would turn and look at (Y/n) with interest as if waiting for something.

Eggsy tried moving closer to them so he could stop them if need be, but Merlin’s voice in his ear stopped him.

“Target is on the move, please tell me it’s one of you twits walking with her”

Eggsy turned his head to the right and cursed quietly. It wasn’t. (Y/n) was talking to a man in his early twenties, giggling and blushing like crazy. The pair had moved away from the bar and were reasonably close to a door, one that would lead onto the many rooms the guests would be staying in that night. He offered her his hand and she shook it politely, smiling.

“Where’s Roxy?” Eggsy asked, scanning for the blonde. But she was no where to be seen. It was if she’d just vanished into thin air.

“Agent Lancelot?” Merlin asked. No response, only crackling.

“Roxy?” Eggsy tried this time, moving closer to (Y/n). There was a sick feeling in his stomach. Everything was already going wrong.

“She’s gone. I’ll try to contact her or locate her at least. In the mean time, follow the target, don’t let her get away”

Eggsy nodded, watching as the pair moved toward the door. The man held it open for her, motioning for him to follow. (Y/n) smiled and obliged. Eggsy sprinted toward the pair, weaving in and out of people as best he could. He caught the door just before it closed, slipping away unnoticed.

He followed the two of them down the corridor and was about to leap into action when they entered another room, the door locking behind them. He swore quietly, explaining his situation to Merlin quietly.

“How many in the room?” He asked.

“At least ten” Merlin responded, reading the thermal emissions of the room.

“That’s funny. Only two went in” Eggsy chuckled “and I have the sneaking suspicion the rest aren’t party guests”

“They’re putting their plan into action now” Merlin agreed.

“What do we do?”

“I’ll hack into the rooms security cameras and project it onto your glasses. I’m working on unlocking the door. Wait until the right moment to bust in, you’ll need backup. Plus they may let some crucial information slip if we wait a moment”

Eggsy focused on the projection on his glasses, hands tightening around his umbrella.

“So then I said to let the poor bugger go” the man ended his story, his back to (Y/n) as he poured her a drink.

“As they should have, hunting animals like that is just cruel” (Y/n) sighed, readjusting her position on her chair.

“I couldn’t agree more” the man nodded, sending her a soft smile over his shoulder.

“It’s so refreshing to meet someone who you see eye to eye with” (Y/n) added, gladly taking the drink from him as he turned around. But as she did so her pointed finger slipped into the cup, falling into the alcohol.

“Oh” she chuckled, quickly pulling it out and shaking it dry “I must be more tipsy than I realise”

The man chuckled at her blushing cheeks, finding her embarrassment quiet amusing.

“To good health” he chimed, raising his glass.

“To good health” she repeated, lifting her glass to her lips. But something out of the corner or her eye made her stop.

The nail polish on the finger - the one that ‘fell’ into her drink - was slowly losing it’s dark colour, turning a bright pink.

“Huh” she chuckled “Well isn’t that strange”.

(Y/n) moved her mouth away from the rim, crossing her arms over her chest.

“So tell me, how many doses of rohypnol did you put in this?” She asked, slowly pouring the drink out onto the carpet. Her attitude had changed from a love-struck giggling woman to an unnervingly calm interrogator.

The man stared at her with his mouth opening and shutting quickly, completely confused.

“Nothing?” She tilted her head to the side “oh what a shame”

She threw the glass quickly at him, spinning round on her heels just as a secret door behind her opened, the burly men from earlier charging in. Her hand slid to her thigh and she pulled out a gun, shooting two of them in the face. She ducked behind her chair, reloading as they fired at her, waiting until one brave soul came too close. She shoved the chair into his stomach, making him topple over. Quickly she jumped over the mess. Grabbing the gun of one surprised man, she used it to smack him in the face with it before turning to face a man to her right. She kicked him in the chest, making him back up a few paces before elbowing him in the face, knocking him out cold.

She turned round to face the remaining two, snarling viciously. One ran - diving out a window, unluckily meeting his end by a Kingsmen agent waiting for him- but the biggest stayed, taunting her forward.

“Come on then, little girl” he hissed, making a 'come at me’ motion with his fingers.

(Y/n) straightened her posture, clicking her heels together. Out sprung a small dagger which she caught in mid air, grinning madly.

She lunged toward him, aiming for his throat. He blocked it quickly, and punched at her stomach. She grunted with the impact, and Eggsy was sure he heard a snapping noise. But she ignored this and lunged again, this time nicking his arm with her weapon just as her other hand boxed him straight in the nose. As he stumbled back in shock, (Y/n) kicked him with all her might, sending him right through a nearby wall and into the next room.

(Y/n) sighed, dusting herself down as debris fell around her. Flipping her (Y/hc) out of her face, she walked toward the man who had offered her the drink, pulling at his tie.

“So David, why are you trying to kidnap me?” She asked, playing with her knife in a threatening way.

“Eggsy-” Merlin started, slightly worried about the guy. He had been strangely silent throughout the full fight.

“On it” he responded quickly, opening the door. He immediately froze when a knife was thrown at him, dodging to the left just to avoid it.

“That one was a warning” (Y/n) hissed, grabbing one of the fallen men’s guns and aiming it at him.

Eggsy put his hands up quickly, a look of terror on his face.

“Miss (Y/n)” Merlin’s voice echoed around the room, making the girl stiffen "We are here to help”

“Who are you?” She asked, looking around for the source of the voice.

“Oxford not Brogues” Eggsy tried, watching as her eyes light up with surprise.

“A Kingsman Agent” she chuckled “of course” she turned her head to the security camera “I thought I told you already Merlin that I’m not interested in joining your little club”

“That’s not why we’re here Guinevere” Merlin responded.

“Don’t call me that you -” she hissed quietly, about to say something a bit rude. But a muffled yell interrupted her.

She frowned, walking slowly toward a cupboard and opening it. Out fell Roxy, gagged and bound and thrashing wildly.

“So why are you here?” (Y/n) directed her question to no one in particular “I’m guessing it’s not just to check up on your favourite rogue agent”

“We were sent here to protect you” Eggsy answered, watching as she untied Roxy, helping the poor girl to her feet.

“Well, as you can see I have it covered” (Y/n) smirked before strutting out the room. Eggsy watched as she walked down the hall, hips swaying, heels clicking on the polished floors.

Roxy rolled her eyes at his hypnotised glance, struggling toward the door.

“Men” she muttered before following after (Y/n), Eggsy closely behind.
