In October 2015, World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization, sent provisions to South Carolina to help with relief initiatives. The state recently experienced record-breaking flooding that took that lives of 15 citizens. The central and coastal regions saw nearly 2 feet of rainfall. By mid-October, 241 people sought refuge at seven shelters located across six counties.

World Vision shipped essentials from its disaster supply warehouse in Grand Prairie via a 53-foot semi-truck. Provisions included hygiene kits, blankets, clothing, cleaning supplies, and household goods. Additionally, it offered toys for families with children. These items were delivered to local churches for distribution.

World Vision leads relief and advocacy initiatives in nearly 100 countries. The group battles poverty and injustice to help families and communities reach their full potential. World Vision is able to achieve its goals through public donations. To find out more about the organization, visit www.worldvision.org.
