The painted monasteries of Bucovina are among the most famous sights of Romania, and no visit to the country would be complete without seeing some of these remarkable churches, painted top to bottom, inside and out. On top is a fresco of the Last Judgment at Voroneț Monastery. Next clockwise is the open porch at  Moldovița Monastery (some of the porches of these churches have been enclosed in later rebuilding); at bottom is a depiction of the Siege of Constantinople from Sucevița Monastery, the largest of them; next clockwise is a depiction of the Emperor Constantine and his mother, Helena, who, in the Orthodox church, are important saints, though in the Latin church they are not saints.
