“Hyunjin! Hyunjin!”

The sound of someone calling his name rang in Hyunjin’s ears repeatedly. Mildly frustrated, Hyunjin simply groaned and turned over, covering his ears with a pillow. However, that served no purpose the moment he felt a pair of arms grab him and shake him with a force like an earthquake. 

“Hyunjin!” the voice called once more, before Hyunjin gave a frustrated “argh” and sat up, albeit begrudgingly. Blinking his eyes to adjust to the darkness, he tried to make out who the figure in front of him was. To no surprise, it was Jisung. 

“What do you want, Jisung? It’s freaking two in the morning!” Hyunjin groaned, running his fingers through his tousled hair. 

“Hyunjinnnn, I can’t sleep and I’m bored!” Jisung whined. “Do something with me!”

“Go use your phone or something! I’m tired,” Hyunjin complained, preparing to flop back down and go back to sleep, when Jisung stopped him.

“That’s exactly what I was doing. I was scrolling through tiktok, and thought we could do this together!” Jisung quipped, jumping up and down like an excited puppy.

“Jisung, please. I’m not ready for this chaos, not at this hour,” Hyunjin tried to reason politely.

“No, please! Just look at this!” Jisung insisted, shoving his phone in front of Hyunjin. 

Hyunjin looked at the video playing on Jisung’s screen, titled “How to summon a gorilla”. At first, the title seemed ridiculous to him, but as he watched on, his curiosity was piqued. Hmm, maybe, just maybe, they could give it a try now! It sounded exciting, and besides, what better time to do it than at 2 am in the morning!

“So, what do you think, Hyunjin? You in?” Jisung asked, looking at his friend with hope-filled eyes. 

“I’m in!” Hyunjin immediately decided, hopping out of his bed as Jisung whooped.

You awoke with a content smile on your lips.

The sun rays beamed through the curtains, illuminating your face and momentarily blinding you as you slowly sat up, smoothing down the creases and folds on your blanket. 

With a sigh, you rolled out of bed after turning off your alarm clock, heading straight towards the bathroom so you could wash up and prepare for the day. You applied your favorite perfume and carefully brushed your hair into your everyday hairstyle.

After that, you brought out your favorite outfit from your closet, buttoning the shirt and pulling a jacket over the fit. The weather has been quite chilly, lately.

Despite the nerves, you felt warmth flood you as you thought about what was going to happen today. Pushing away your anxiety, you tried to focus on what was ahead of you.

Today was going to be the best day ever.

How did you know that?

Well…you could say that your life now was just like the book you read a few weeks ago. And you just happened to be the main character.
