i have a singular playlist with over 900 songs on spotify. it has a mind boggling variety of genres, and i play it on shuffle and let the shuffling gods decide my mood for the day. it could go from a tear jerking medley of a duo singing their hearts out, to squidward nose by cupcakKe. the gods of fate have decided to ride a rollercoaster and i'm simply dragged along for the ride.
"Here," the god says, handing me a small object. "I have brought you a gift."
"What is it?" I say, holding the little thing up to my ear curiously, hearing the soothing dulcet tones of Adele's voice.
"It is a crystal, nothing more," the being says impishly, "but if you turn it this way-" The god proceeds to snatch the shiny object from my hand, turning it so a different side is placed on my ear once they hand it back to me, clasping my hand with their own to raise it back to its rightful spot.
"WOAH-" I yelp, cringing from the boisterous tune of Squidward Nose emitting from the crystal and piercing my ear canal.
The god proceeds to run off into the sunset like a Looney Tunes character, cackling madly while leaving me in their wake.

One of my dad's close friends reads online newspapers constantly and he always texts my dad articles that he thinks that he would enjoy. Where's the romanticization of that kind of behavior?
