If you're wondering...
yes, I am behind @whatwhiteswillneverknow.
Yes, I am rebooting it.
Why? I'll tell you later.
Do y'all miss me?
Lemme get settled in first.
Y'all gonna hate me for this... lol
I'm taking a break from politics for a while.
Mostly because I made a mistake. See, all these years, I figured if I meet people where they are, they will probably listen.
But then I realize that what I was really doing I didn't spoke at their grade level. They are not capable of thinking for themselves.
And when they finally start to grow up out of that, all the grey hairs are for nothing. So, I'm reclaiming my time for the time being.
Now that the worse people are in charge, what's the point of looking at more speculations? I'll comment on things once the dust settles. I got a Steam Deck to play.
Windows, Mac OS, Chrome OS, Android. Many operating systems, but one purpose; to see how much money they can squeeze out of me.
I've been an avid user of Windows for years. However, as time goes on and big tech starts to try to squeeze more money out of me (or more data), I've been trying to figure out how to give them less of it, whether it is one or the other. Bad enough I don't own my Steam library. I don't need things firing on all cylinders, using up my computer spins, getting data and sending to Microsoft and Google. So, I'm doing an overdue transition to Linux. It's now stable enough where I am able to do most things.
Sure, I'll lose the ability to do some things and I can't totally get away from mainstream Big Tech, but if I can get at least 80% of my digital life back in private mode... I'll be happy. If I can run my hardware, knowing it won't send data to other spots unless I want to, sure.
Here's the thing with using Linux full-time: while it's possible to do it, because I need access to certain hardware and certain software, it keeps me trapped in Microsoft's world.
My creativity is more important and while I want to learn new software, it would mean learning how to ride my bike all over.
I blew my old laptop. I didn't want to get a brand new laptop, but sadly, while making repairs, I made a mistake of trying to apply paste to a CPU when I never been that deep into my Alienware before. I decided that if I was going to get a new laptop, just get a used one. I managed to get a Thinkpad t495 for $200. I spent $129 on a new 2TB drive for it, so all in all, $329 isn't bad.
I saw Windows 11, I noticed that the person who sold it to me gave me a dummy account on it. It's totally local and doesn't rely on OneDrive. And that gave me an idea. What if I can run both Linux and Windows 11, but I will only boot into Windows 11 if I need to run an app that I can't on Linux?
And what if I strip Windows 11 of all the data collection stuff and only use it when I absolutely need to? It can probably work out for the better.

They provided examples of his behavior. Not what he said, but pictures and news articles. And I can't unthink it.
I mean, he's already an odd man, but now he's barely even a man by hetronormative standards.
Which one is your favourite? @thoughtstherapy
I attended the NYPD Protest in response to the subway shooting that happened recently where 4 people (2 innocent bystanders, the suspect and an NYPD officer) were shot while the suspect was evading the officers for not paying the fare and the suspect allegedly had a knife.
But what I witnessed was a trigger take down of protesters and a large number of officers for a small number of protesters.

I swear I'm in the Boondocks universe.
Somehow, the #1 RANKED Dancer in the world is a person who failed to score not only a single point in the Olympics, but probably made it so that the event she's in that will may never take the stage again...
... and in the meanwhile, we're in a tight election where there are people undecided between a convicted liar and a person who is probably capable of professionalism... as a standard.
And y'all want to convince me that "common sense" exists?
With the rise of AI and customer electronics becoming more of a mess, I figured that a tech blog where I make tech speak accessible is worth doing. It's something I was trying to do with @thoughtremixer with mixed results, but now I can just hone in on this one topic with my unique perspective on it.
Just one issue... should I keep the name open ended where Blackness is nowhere hinted at/expressed or should I make it so that it specifically targets the Black audience?
I lost my domain name thanks to a recent personal drama I will not get into (it's household related, so nothing major).
Since someone else got my domain name and will probably use it in ways I can't imagine, along with the uncertainty of Tumbler's future and my lack of interest to maintaining this blog, I decided to push my efforts elsewhere.
So, if you still have an interest in my outtakes and what not, I'm going to be blogging from @nukirk from now on. I'll keep the @thoughtremixer up for as long as possible, but don't expect any new updates on this side.
This is sad news to hear brother!
Yeah, I get that. It is sad.
But in a way, it can also be a bit freeing. I have been posting with people expecting me to be a certain way when I'm not really "that way". Or at least that way anymore.
A lot of things had changed since my police violence incident and while I still have the same views before, my apporach to it changed.
So, I'm just trying to figure out the next step.
I briefly mentioned in a previous post about the uncertainty of the future of my Tumblr profile(s).
That's because it's going to become WordPress. Sorta.
Basically, Automattic (the company that owes Tumblr now) is losing money in developing features for Tumblr and all the things that is currently on Tumblr isn't helping to break even. They already cut Tumblr staff, reducing it to a skeleton crew. Remember all the original Tumblr programming that the Tumblr staff tries to come up with? That's currently off the table.
Since I already use WordPress to run my websites outside of here, it's not a bad thing on an interface level. But the main idea on why I use(d) Tumblr is for the community aspect of it. They are still working on integrating Tumblr into the Fediverse, opening the Tumblr community to others, interacting with posts from other spots, making Tumblr an alternative to Elon Musk's site.
So good news... all the work you put into Tumblr won't disappear. Tumblr is what I like to call a "backbone" site, where it's a launch pad for a lot of memes and human creativity. The interface will change and you'll pretty much have an experience similar to WordPress.
The bad news? The "hell site" you love to hate and its uniqueness is slowly disappearing, all because the fan base here is just hard to please and monetized.
I should know. @thoughtremixer has close to 24K followers. But using it nowadays almost means nothing. I do notice the people that see me, but beyond that, anything that I post barely gets double digits.
I'm not saying "oh, we should support Tumblr and buy subscriptions". But I am saying that if you have a creator that you adore and they are elsewhere, make sure to follow them there. Some of us are trying to make ends meet by getting our content to be seen by where the eyeballs are at. It's why I haven't posted on Tumblr back when everything was functional.
So, if you have a creator on Tumblr that you love, follow them at least on some other network of their choice. Make the effort because Tumblr will not be enough now that resources will be spent on trying to get change Tumblr into something else.

This blog has been one of my many joys and pains. While I don't regret much, and there are things I wish I've done better, I just think it's time for me to retire the blog and the concept of it really.
I only retired it as a knee jerk reaction to losing my domain name and realizing that anyone with my domain name now may just misrepresent it and I have to find a way to make sure whatever they use it for isn't a part of me. So, this is sadly the only move that makes sense.
Well, let's see what I can make outta my own name instead.
