“Ah, I suppose that’s true. There’s a good chance it might get crowded though, and I’m uncertain if I would feel very comfortable with that. If you have any personal preferences as to where we should be, however, I’m open to suggestions. You know this ship better than I do, after all.” Selena adjusted her green dress a little, making sure she could move comfortably in it. Truth be told, she liked being on this ship, feeling the breeze pass over them as they stood on its exterior, getting a good view as the sky began turning to night.
“It’s nice to have a chance to meet you properly, by the way, Clive. I’ve heard a considerable amount of good things about you, though I would not be surprised if you had no idea who I was before this event began.”
“ i’m fine just about anywhere. being near the sea makes me feel quite at home ; one of my childhood homes is near the coast, so the sound of the water is very relaxing. . . ” he hummed a bit, turning his head up towards the darkening sky. the show would be beginning soon -- clive was very excited to see it again.
“ i’ve heard a bit, but not very much. you keep to yourself, it seems. . .though it makes me wonder what sort of rumors you’ve heard told about me. there are some people who do not think me a very nice person. ”

“ the bow, most likely. the boat is turned to get the best view of the show, so it might be the best spot. i’m sure everyone’s vying for it, so we best hurry. . . ”

quick interest check on maybe watching season two of slayers via rabbit? watching season one isnt totally required since, in true shonen fashion, they tend to recap the previous season and its also my favorite which would be awesome since ive had kinda a crap day

“Hey. Heeeeeyyyyy. None of that ‘should have, could have’ nonsense, okay? You did exactly what you were supposed to.” Okay, maybe she’s not supposed to be wandering around yet, but the Summoner’s grown rather bored with sitting around in her little cot staring at the ceiling. That, and leaving Clive alone to organize everything again is causing a rather large wave of guilt to bubble up in the pit of her stomach.
“It was my choice to go out there with you all– And to stay there after the flames were dispelled. Not a very bright one, maybe, but it was still my choice to make. Just like it was Clair’s choice to become a knight of Zofia– You didn’t spend your entire time in the Deliverance babysitting her on the battlefield, did you? No, there were a million other things you needed to attend to at the moment– And she’s totally fine! Just like I’m totally fine. We’re all okay, and that’s what matters.
Don’t brood over this. Promise me, Clive. We’ve been hit with enough curveballs– Let’s just thank whatever gods are out there that we’re okay and start planning our next move, yeah? … Actually, let’s take five to catch our breath. That said… I’m so glad you’re okay. Eliwood said you were, but… I wanted to see it with my own eyes.”
had he babysat clair when she became a knight? no, of course not -- but his sister had been kidnapped and held hostage by their enemies and it was the efforts of a group with no affiliation to the deliverance to free her instead of clive’s bravery. without alm and the others, she might have been killed because of his negligence.
a shuddering sigh escapes him as she almost scolds him. he wants to tell her to get back in bed, to let her body recover, but she’s stubborn as mathilda sometimes. it was useless to tell her.
“ i understand where you’re coming from, but this wouldn’t have happened if we’d kept a better eye on you. that was more dangerous than any battlefield i’ve been on yet -- i’ve faced the entire rigelian army before and that doesn’t even compare to the campaign in muspell.

"Um...E-Excuse me...Sir Clive?" She shyly said, making sure to keep her distance just in case. Despite her own feelings, she was worried about the others. "...A-Are you...a-alright? Can I help in some way..?"
“ lady sakura, no, it’s. . .it’s fine. i’m quite used to having my hands full after such things happen. ” he’s used to the guilt that comes from a failure as a commander as well, so this wasn’t a new feeling. he’s simply glad none of the deliverance are lingering about to see him sulking. “ i’ll be alright. i’ll simply have to take more responsibility. ”
