i think we can all agree that chriseva was endgame. despite what the show gave us or didnt, they didn’t build up chris and eva’s relationship to throw it away in the last few minutes rather than let them end up together like it should’ve been. petition to, from this day on, pretend that last bit never happened and chriseva is happy out there somewhere, because we all know they are our endgame

this is gonna be hella unpopular but i’m still pissed about how chriseva ended. they gave us this beautiful scene that i absolutely freaked out about in the s4 finale with chris basically asking eva to be his girlfriend and sending her fucking flowers (the boy is clueless, please) and introducing himself to her mother and in general they just seemed so comfortable and domestic with each other and i, boo boo the fool, thought we’d get our endgame but then the emma bullshit?? nah, i’m not buying this. also not buying that eva didn’t like chris at all. she broke up with jonas for a reason. and then because of her, he cheated on his girlfriend? so you’re basically telling me she left chris, who was clearly interested in her and seemed to have changed a lot since s1, to get back on the same bullshit with jonas? cheating on people to be together? and chris, who put in all this effort to be with eva, just saw emma and what? fell in love with her? that whole ending was a mess. i sure hope one of the remakes does better with this ship. my money’s on either skamit or skamesp. i thought it would be skam france but what was that even?? wouldn’t blame alex if he never wants to speak to emma again cause she was really shitty to him, even though it was HER who wanted the full relationship package and he actually did everything right. i know most people don’t care about them but they were my fav ship in the og and yeah i’m gonna fucking say it, they deserved better.

I realise that ageism in fandom is, in the grand scheme of things, the least concerning thing about the fandom experience but I need to say this: all you baby adults on here need to calm down and let the real grown adults have their fun too without you hopping in their ask box’s calling them names. You’re going to get old too, okay? The years pass, you will hit thirty and beyond at some point and that’s a good thing! And when you do, you’ll still want to look at pictures of your blorbos and talk to strangers about who you want them to fuck and how they should do it. Life is hard enough right now, getting old and having a job/family/kids/responsibilities won’t change your love of fiction. I just hope that when you do hit those milestones, you will be allowed to do so in peace without being shamed for it by some terrified idiot hiding behind the anon feature.

I started in the Beyblade fandom when I was 17. I remember because I literally turned 17 on the best Beyblade message boards Ty Kamara. I'm going to be 40 next year but my interest in anime and manga or just my general interests have not changed at all.

Little kids need to just stfu and leave us oldies alone. These people act like they're not going to get old someday. If they're lucky they will. And that just because people are older they can't have interests and fun online.

if you were able to write the script of a jay centric cpd episode, what part of his character would you want to explore?

Avatar

Holy shit what an amazing question!

I think absolutely no one is going to be shocked by this answer, but for fun I’m going to give you two that I would kill to have explored in an actual episode.

Number one, obviously his past in the Rangers and by extension, his relationship with Mouse. A lot of Jay’s past in that aspect was only given in exposition by other characters, example, Will telling Erin about Mouse’s bond with Jay. I’d honestly would love to see a military related case (that doesn’t end with Jay sleeping with someone involved and almost fucking up his career) in which Mouse returns (and very importantly, doesn’t get killed off by these trigger happy writers) for the send off his character was denied.

I’d looooooooooooove to have an actual flashback episode like MacGyver that explores his actual time in the military and see him in action but I know that’s absolutely never going to happen.

I remember the conversation he had with dear old Al early in season one, when they were talking about their military background and when Jay said that he was in the Rangers, Al’s reply was ‘that explains a lot’. I want to know that. What does it explain? Why would Al say that? I want that aspect explored instead of just being mentioned whenever the situation calls for it.

Number two, Jay actually dealing with PTSD over the shit that he’d been through while on the job. Remember when a bullet he fired killed a little girl? Remember when a fellow soldier died in his arms while trying to help him? Remember when it happened TWICE? Remember when his father died and he never got the closure he deserved and the last words he said to him had been in anger? Remember when he got shot? Remember when he was kidnapped and tortured and his teammates forced to watch? Remember when he got shot again? Remember when his best friend left to go back to fight the war they both barely survived?

I remember. You remember. Why don’t the writers?

Anyway, bitterness aside, I’d love an episode where he’s forced to deal with the trauma when it suddenly becomes too much.

There was an amazing episode of Third Watch, in which Bosco who was dealing with PTSD over the tragedy of 911 and having to watch his mentor and someone he looked up to go mad, try to kill him before eventually committing suicide right in front of him, had a massive panic attack after a paint pack in bag of stolen cash exploded in his face. He eventually broke down in the arms of his best friend and partner because she was the only one he trusted to let it all out. It was an amazing character story that spanned a couple episode and an amazing scene of vulnerability in a character usually so stoic and emotionless (besides his default state of anger) that was swept under the rug. In fact, Bosco’s traumas are dealt with with so much more care by the Third Watch writers than the PD writers could ever imagine.

(For the record, Bosco to this day remains of my most favourite TV character ever. Bosco and Faith is the partnership standard in which I compare all TV partnerships.)

Imagine that happening with Jay and him going to Hailey because she’s the only person he trusts to open up to.

Imagine it! And it’s not even an unrealistic type story to have in the show right? Third Watch could do it, why can’t Chicago PD?

For the record, I hold Third Watch as the standard in which I compare all first responder TV shows from now on, cause in terms of just all round quality, it has yet to be beaten.

And I’m sorry that this ended up turning into a Third Watch stanning post.
