Christmas Couples Poses

I know I know I’ve already done a Christmas pose set and this isn’t really Christmas-y but over on the RLC thread we do family Christmas cards, and this one is mine for the Matthews (even though I’ve still not decided if Juniper kept or changed her last name when she got married, I don’t know, so possibly from the Matthews lmao)!

“I think we all know it by now,” she said slowly. “Maybe not the depth of it, but it’s hard not to notice.” She nudged Urtica. “I’m not as anxious but I… I definitely have my own things to struggle with. With good friends, though, you don’t struggle alone.” She met Urtica’s gaze, her eyes soft but serious. “The way you see yourself isn’t how others do, you know? I think I’m a boring person, too hesitant and shy for my own good, and too willing to be rebellious and stubborn to listen to common sense. I don’t understand why anyone would want to spend time with me. I don’t understand why you’ve kept me here so long.” Misty smiled. “But you have. And I’m still here for you. I don’t see you like you do, ruled by your anxiety or whatever. I think you’ve got this… well of kindness and love inside you, and that’s – from what I’ve seen in the world – really damn rare. You’re so patient, and understanding, and caring.  You have your morals and you don’t compromise on them.” She licked her lips, and mumbled, “I love that about you.”

With hope, it is possible to move ahead and face any obstacle. Even though it may be hard, and at times downright impossible, but with the right people and the right mindset, surely anything can be possible.

As the doors to Hope’s Peak opened, the five students held hands, ready to embrace the future, and ready to confront it with hope.

“Well, I guess this is goodbye, and goodbye to Tavi.” Melissa started, a tinge of sadness present in her voice as she added the last part quietly. “But hey. The best way to beat sadness is with a smile, right?”

“Even though I hope we do not part, if we do, you can always count on me if you need anything.” Stacey added.

“Likewise. I’m not so sure how much help I’ll be, but hey. If something comes up, feel free to let me know.” Jacob agreed.

“There’s a part of me that can’t wait to get out there and start protesting again, but at the same time, it feels strange. I think we’ve all changed greatly.” Elettra added.

“I… Really don’t know what to say that hasn’t already been said. If I ever see you guys around, I’ll try and not trick you.” Letting out a laugh, he then asked. “I guess, this is like our graduation?”

“You know what they say. If there’s no road then build one, right?” Stacey agreed. “We’ll help people see past despair. I’m sure of it.”

“As long as we have each other around, we can face what’s out there, right?” Jacob asked, rather rhetorically. He felt like he already knew.

“And besides, if they don’t have any donut shops, I’ll just make my own! I’m sure I can figure it out!” Melissa grinned, hopeful about the future. “No matter how bleak things seem, there will always be hope, just as there will also always be despair.”

“We’ll find people like us. I’m sure of it. Probably if they saw that trial, that might have awakened some hope within them!” Mikey was sure of that. He just knew it.

“They probably don’t have them. If the world is like what Junko said, it seems unlikely.” Stacey broke the new gently, giving Melissa a sympathetic smile.

“No matter what the world looks like though, it’s still our world.” Jacob smiled slightly at the thought of freedom, even if the world wasn’t like what they remember.

The two of them shared a look before he explained. “We’re gonna talk about it, when it’s a better time and there’s less death and impending death involved.”

“It’s probably the best thing.” Elettra agreed, subtly hiding her left hand. What the others didn’t know right now couldn’t hurt them. Even though it wasn’t explicitly an engagement ring right now, it was at least a promise ring. “Anyway, back on topic, I think we shouldn’t face a problem when we try and leave.”

“Even if it ends up being something else, something more her-ish. We can’t risk not opening the door.” Stacey mumbled, feeling somewhat anxious. “We have nothing to worry about though, as long as we keep our hope and as long as we’re together.”

“So, this is it. We’re going to leave Hope’s Peak Academy.” Melissa spoke quietly before glancing over at Elettra and Mikey. “So, what’s gonna happen with you guys? With the whole ring thing?” Even though she knew it was probably awkward to bring it up, she wanted to know.

“But, is this it? Is that really the key to opening the door? All that kicking it, and trying to break it down… All we needed was a button?” Melissa asked, somewhat amazed.

“She did say that she would force us out before dropping it, so I guess it’s safe to assume that’s our ticket out.” Jacob pointed out.
