honestly i do find “papa roach - last resort” and linkin park/simple plan jokes funny in moderation but like

i used to be one of those ~emo teens~ that listened to all three, dyeing my hair black, using heavy eyeliner and dressing in all-black, and honestly it bothers me how much people ridicule emo/goth teens and teens who listen to “edgy” music, because uh…

those bands used to be a huge coping method for me while i was being heavily abused by my mom and in a toxic relationship and later when i was moving between foster homes and dealing with all kinds of childhood trauma

like im not saying that every emo kid out there is being abused or dressing the way theyre dressing and listening to the music theyre listening because of mental health problems or trauma/abuse, but imho if youve never dealth with any of that while in your teenage years, you Really shouldnt be making fun of a group of kids where a lot of them are vulnerable

and to be frank, if youre an adult you should be extremely critical of how you interact with jokes where the butt of the joke is a child point blank (the amount of joke posts here that i see about parenting etc that are actually child abuse is too fucking high lmao)
