A lot of the problems hrt gives you are just problems that cis people with that hormone also have. You’re more likely to have heart problems on T because testosterone makes your blood thick sometimes. You’re more likely to have breast cancer on E because you get more breast tissue. Tbh if I’m gonna have health problems anyways I’d rather have man health problems.

there are still people in the notes of that thread failing to grasp that this isn't a hypothetical for me. I know trans people up here who had their front door covered with 'I ❤️ JKR' and 'adult human female' stickers. there are active terf groups who harrass queer cafés and bookshops and use her name as an in-group identifier on signs and t-shirts at protests and at pride. she actually personally funded a trans exclusionary women's crisis centre in edinburgh, after her followers hounded and harrassed an inclusive service into shutting down. she is a tangible threat to trans people here.

hey fellow Europeans (EU), just a friendly and mildly concerned reminder that in less than a month, the European elections are taking place. it's an election with a historically low turnout, but one that is just as important as any other, if not more. the composition of the EU parliament determines the political direction of the EU, and has an impact on all 27 countries through directives and regulations that get voted.

we cannot let far right extremist parties get an even bigger stronghold there than they already do. sadly, there are very significant threats of exactly that happening from many countries.

so please, if you are an EU citizen living in the EU and are of voting age, check the modalities to vote in your country of residence, and make sure to make your voice heard.

You don’t have to proof why you can’t vote in person on the day or anything. So in case you have other shit to do that day or have difficulty getting to the place where you have to vote, or don’t know where that place is or how to get there and don’t want to make the effort to find out or you think it might rain that day and you don’t want to get wet or whatever your reason might be…

Just fill out that from and post it and your voting forms will come home to you. And there is a detailed explanation how it works. It’s very, very easy!
