The clear definition of doing Ron dirty in the movies is the scene where Snape calls her a 'insufferable know it all'

Emerging from my hibernation to make a post connecting Bridgerton meta with HP meta that absolutely nobody asked for.

There’s a quote going around Twitter attributed to one of the Bridgerton execs from an interview about S3, suggesting that Colin might not be the right person for Penelope because he might not be a match for her intelligence.

I realize the point is to hype up the drama and “will they/ won’t they?” for what we know already is an endgame ship. But it’s so messed up and the same horrible attitude that we know all too well from anti-Romione discourse.

“He’s not clever enough for her” is, in both scenarios, a total misreading and bad adaptation of the canon character, obviously, and to say either Ron or Colin are lacking in wits is just frankly incorrect.

…But let’s assume for a moment that it were true.

This attitude is so revealing of the fact that we as a society still do NOT like women to be more intelligent, ambitious, or successful than their male romantic partners. We like strong women but get squirmy when they’re perceived as *more*, somehow, than the man they love. At least when it comes to traits that we equate to some kind of power.

She can be clever or successful, but he’s got to be her equal (or better?) He can’t be less. And that isn’t exactly a feminist take, imo. And I don’t see these arguments being made when the dynamic is reversed.

Reblogging because it's Polin Eve.

Petition to refer to TERFs as FARTs, which stands for Feminist Appropiating Reactionary Tranaphobe

“Trans-Exclusionary-Radical-Feminist,” when you think about it, is a VERY kind term. To be called a TERF is for the person to admit that they still consider you a feminist.

But what kind of feminist excludes so many women from their movement? If you hate so many women for what they are, you really don’t deserve to be called any kind of feminist, radical or otherwise.

Anti-trans people: Stop calling us terfs it’s insulting

fattyatomicmutant, about to coin a new term: ‘K

Feminist Appropiating Reactionary Transphobe is far far more accurate too.

I like this new term better. It accurately captures the implicit bigotry of excluding trans people while also not dignifying hateful people with the epithet “feminist”, which they do not deserve.

Wh- no wait this is awesome, we should blow up FARTs now
