I just want to talk about the scene where Shou convinces Ritsu to work with him because I'm dying to know how that went down in real time

-to start with, it seems like Shou immediately started talking, some sort of grand speech he definitely didn't prepare beforehand.

-Ritsu does not say a word.

-Then suddenly Shou shoves this into Ritsu's hands.

-this is seriously such a bad plan that a should-be middle schooler would think is GENIUS.

-Shou is so confident in himself that he thinks this plan is going to work on Ritsu- who he beat unconscious the first time he met him.

- The last time Ritsu saw him, Shou (presumably) just killed someone and then stared directly into his soul before literally vanishing into thin air.

-Ritsu's parents show up before Ritsu can really even say anything and now he has to go along with this so he looks like a normal little son-boy who totally isn't talking to an evil(?) powerful esper his age.

-I WOULD KILL TO KNOW WHAT SHOU WAS SAYING.

-it can't have been good. It can't have been convincing. And yet.

-Somehow it works. Somehow Ritsu agrees to go along with him.

-Also Shou took his shoes off when he came inside.

you underestimate speedrunning techs and their requirements

I'm pretty sure the absolute best speedrun time is the one where somebody got a random warp saving several seconds that was ultimately concluded to not be reproducible due to most likely being caused by a neutrino passing through exactly the right physical location in the RAM at the perfect moment. So yes, astrophysical phenomena do affect SM64 speedruns on a much higher level of sensitivity than you expect
