This is it.
This is the end.
The only thoughts that flashed through your head were ones that foretold your bitter end, and you nearly collapsed onto your knees, your eyes shaking as your overworked body struggled to keep itself together.
“Who- Who are you…?”
Deep within the heart of the frozen winter forest, deep inside of the murky abandoned castle, deep in the labyrinth of a prison, the only living souls were you, the person you came to rescue, and the hulking silhouette of something you could only describe as horrendous a mere few feet away. You rushed here expecting the worst, braving the harsh blizzards and sprinting throughout the winding corridors and endless maze that the castle was until the sound of Cock Robin’s coughing led you to the dungeon. Despite that fear and the fatigue spiking through every inch of your body like some poison taking root, you stood your ground.
A low rumble filled the room, and momentarily, you thought an earthquake was taking place. Whatever soul was in the area with you, it definitely wasn’t human. The aura the creature held was almost stifling, holding eons upon eons of memories and emotions you probably wouldn’t even be able to begin to comprehend. The beast lurked amongst the darkness, keeping his distance and watching you with keen eyes that spelled nothing but pure malice as you observed him.
